Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Systems Security Engineering Section Manager 2 within the Mission Defense Team (MDT) supporting the Sentinel Program. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.

What You Will Get To Do:

The selected candidate will be responsible for a Systems Security Engineering (SSE) discipline Section within the Mission Defense Team (MDT) supporting the Sentinel Program. As a Section Manager you will be expected to spend approximately 20% of your effort on Functional Homeroom (FHR) responsibilities with 80% of your efforts focused on a technical assignment leading SSE Engineers.

Primary Technical Responsibilities include:

  • Communicate complex technical issues and solutions to SSE team members and management.
  • Manage SSE team member task allocation, provide technical oversight, direction.
  • Hardware Assurance, Software Assurance, and traceability of configurable logic within supply chains
  • Identify RMF and program protection impacts for software development lifecycle as well as hardware implementation lifecycle
  • COTS / MOTS manufacturing and supply chain risk management
  • Allocate resources to meet time, cost, and schedule.
  • Communicate with the Functional Homeroom (FHR) to establish standardized SSE processes.
  • Conduct Earned Value Management for all SSE cost accounts in conjunction with Cost Account Management (CAM).
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of SSE Customer Deliverables.

Primary FHR responsibilities include:

  • Provide career mentorship to anywhere from 8 and 12 SSE team members.
  • Manage personnel performance ratings for SSE team members.
  • Mentor SSE team members on career pathway development and goal setting.
  • Conduct training for SSE team member process familiarization.
  • Build staffing plans for SSE team member role placement.

    This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field and at least 8 years of related systems engineering experience
  • Managing people preferred
  • 1 year experience in budgeting or managing Cost Accounts.
  • 1 year experience performing Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application with an investigation completed within the last 6 years
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Enhanced Clearance Level(s) within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience briefing high level leadership on complex issues.
  • Understanding Risk Management (identification and development of risks) and driving risk mitigations to closure.
  • Experience conducting threat analysis and protection initiatives.
  • Experience in engaging with the intelligence community, utilizing databases, and performing research and analysis.
  • Experience with Program Protection and Supply Chain Risk Management.
  • Experience with Systems-Theoretic Process Analysis for Security (STPA-Sec)
  • Active Top-Secret clearance adjudicated within the last 5 years and ability to obtain SAP access.

Primary Level Salary Range: $139,100.00 - $208,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
