Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for a Principal Metrology Engineer located in Woodland Hills, CA*.*

What you'll get to do:* Properly evaluate and interpret engineering models, engineering GD&T intent, and calibration results.* Manage daily metrology workflow to drive efficiency and optimal resource utilization.* Develop solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovative thinking.* Perform measurements and data post processing using portable metrology systems such as Optical Fixtures, Motion Simulators, and Analysis data using statistic software etc..* Serve as the main metrology interface between engineering and metrology technicians.Basic Qualifications for the Principal Metrology Engineer:* Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and 5 years of experience; Masters degree STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 3 years of experience.* Experience using metrology equipment (Theodolites, Autocollimators, Laser Interferometer, Mechanical Equipment Calibrator).* Experience with Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and interpreting engineer drawings and models.* Experience with automated calibration system such as Surecal or Metcal.* U.S. Citizenship required.* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.Preferred Qualifications:* Experience performing metrology evaluations, calibration, data interpretation of Optical Equipment used in surveying equipment for Astronomic Reference north alignment.* Experience with Gage Blocks to set up optical fixtures for Yaw, Pitch, and Roll for Navigation systems reference on Motion Simulators.* Experience with tooling, fixtures, and precision angles levels. Experience with Mechanical Metrology standards.

Primary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
