Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking Principal Software Systems Engineer. This position can be located in Colorado Springs, CO or Huntsville, AL and will support the Sentinel program.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Basic Qualifications:
Principal Software Engineer: 5 Years with Bachelor's in related field of study, 03 Years with Masters, 1 Years with PhD or 04 additional years in lieu of a degree.
_US Citizenship with Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.
_Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
_Ability to team plan, execute, and manage the technical scope, and support leadership planning.
_Current understanding of software engineering best practices
_Experience in software engineering, system design, software requirements, and test
_Experience with Agile and working in a cross-functional Scrum team.
_Experience integrating multiple engineering specialties and stakeholders across multiple Integrated Product Teams and Suppliers
_Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience
_Experience leading the performance of technical tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as technical lead
_Able to create plans and standards for architecture, requirements, and design that can address selection process that accounts for providing safe, fault tolerant, and deterministic operation for critical functions. Critical functions are those functions that perform/support SCF/Critical signal trace threads.

_Detailed knowledge of the Command and Launch system and mission objectives

ML Model Builder Fundamental Certification:

_Experience with verification planning and system buildup for Flight Tests
_Experience using Model Based Product Line Engineering Concepts
_Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite including Jira and Confluence and working in a cross-function Scrum team.
_Experience performing Safety Critical Functional Thread Analysis (SCFTA)
_Experience integrating multiple engineering specialties and stakeholders across multiple Integrated Product Teams and Suppliers
_Ability to establish a Software Requirements Peer Review Process and verification plans that include identification of all artifacts required for peer review.

Primary Level Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $158,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
