If so, our Defense Systems wants you to join our Team as a SCA Production Control Clerk and support a maintenance program with Northrop Grumman in Lake Charles, LA. *

The Navy E-6 is an airborne command post and communications relay based on the Boeing 707 platform The aircraft are utilized primarily for long-range patrols along the entire U.S. border, and in source and transit zone countries. This platform, now modified to the E-6B standard, conveys instructions from the National Command Authority to fleet ballistic missile submarines, a mission known as TACAMO ("Take Charge And Move Out").
Your duties include, but may not be limited to:

  • *Author, revise, and maintain detailed work instructions to support depot-level maintenance, repair, overhaul, and modification of U.S. Navy aircraft and associated components.

  • *Review, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, specifications, standards, and technical data to ensure work instructions are technically accurate, complete, and compliant.

  • *Navigate and utilize applicable Technical Orders (T.O.'s), manuals, and Navy/DoD technical publications to develop and validate maintenance processes.

  • *Translate engineering requirements and design intent into clear, executable instructions suitable for use by maintenance technicians.

  • *Prepares written work schedules based on established guidelines and priorities.

  • *Writing production reports based on data compiled, tabulated and computed, following prescribed formats, maintaining files of documents used and prepared, compiling detailed production sheets or work tickets for use by production workers as guides in assembly or manufacture of products.

  • *Interfaces with customer; works under limited supervision.

  • *Calculates such factors as types and quantities of items produced, materials used, amount of scrap, frequency of defects, and worker and department production rates, using a computer, calculator, and/or spreadsheets.

  • *Compile and record production data from customer orders, work tickets, product specifications, and individual worker production sheets following prescribed recording procedures and using different word processing techniques.

  • *Compiles and records production data for industrial establishments to compare records and reports on volume of production, consumption of material, quality control, and other aspects of production

  • *Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.

  • *Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems.

  • *Plans sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations relating to specific portion of the product for guidance of production workers.

  • *Plans detail operations from blueprints, engineering orders, change notices, and other engineering releases.

  • *Determines the need for tooling and makes recommendations for the design and planning of required tools.

  • *Prepares shop work orders for materials and product processing and coordinates with schedulers to ensure that items are being processed according to specifications and time requirements.

  • *Determines priorities, lead times, and shop floor schedules.

  • *Maintains progress reports, schedules, and other related records.
    *Basic Qualifications: *

  • *High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of four years of experience working in a highly technical manufacturing/production work environment.

  • *Experience reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.

  • *Experience authoring, modifying, and auditing work procedures.

  • *Technical skills in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

  • *Proficient with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

  • *Strong interpersonal skills: ability to work in a team environment.
    *Preferred Qualifications: *

  • *A&P License

  • *Prior E-6B experience

  • *Able to obtain/maintain a Top-Secret DoD clearance

  • *Experience performing major aircraft modifications

    Primary Level Salary Range: $30.15 - $30.15The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
