Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking a Staff Embedded Software Engineer with the desire to learn new technologies to join our innovative Software and Digital Technologies (SWDT) Organization to help develop, enhance and maintain software on cutting edge products and systems. Candidates will work on software systems for mission systems in all phases of the software development lifecycle, primarily in C/C++.
We are looking for you to join our team as a Staff Embedded Software Engineer based out of Linthicum, MD.

As a Staff Embedded Software Engineer within the Software and Digital Technologies Organization you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation. The Software and Digital Technologies Organization is hiring for the Advanced Land Sensor programs.
Software Technologies: Radars and Sensors for ground-based platforms. Our organization has stable work spread across multiple ground-based programs. This work covers countermeasures, battle space awareness, real time radar processing, aerial target detection and tracking, cognitive and adaptive electronic warfare, and much more!
*Roles and Responsibilities: *

Identifying risks, suggesting mitigation, tracking defects, developing resolutions, and reporting status.
-
Develop and execute unit tests and build verification test plans, and track and report test status.
-
Conduct reviews of software related products, software designs, and additional technical documents.
-
Active leader within Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), design reviews, and other reviews, as required.
-
Actively participate in the technical peer reviews to ensure system/software requirements are being met from an end-to-end system point of view.
Basic Qualifications for a Staff Embedded Software Engineer:
Bachelor's Degree with 12 years of experience, master's degree with 10 years of experience, Ph.D. with 8 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

U.S Citizenship is required.

An active DoD Secret clearance.

The ability to obtain a Special Program Access (SAP) prior to start.

5 years of experience as a Software Engineering/Development Team Leader.

5 years of experience working with a Control Account Manager (CAM) and using an Earned Value Management System (EVMS).

8 years of experience working in C/C++ and working with real-time embedded software.

8 yrs of experience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug and maintenance is required
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in real-time embedded software development knowledge of Radar, Electronic Warfare, or Space technologies.

Experience in algorithmic application development and optimization.

Experience with Vx Works and/or Linux Operating Systems.

Experience with Visual Studio.
-
Experience with MATLAB.
-
Experience with Coverity and/or Kloc Work tools.

Experience in Open Architecture Solutions.

Experience with the Atlassian tool set, Kubernetes, Model Based Engineering, and Dev Sec Ops best practices.

Experience in presenting technical radar and software concepts to internal and external customers.

Experience with integrating and testing software on Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and tactical radar hardware and within multiple radar systems..

Primary Level Salary Range: $163,200.00 - $244,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
