• Systems Engineer (25-446), to join our team of talented and diverse professionals. Based in Colorado Springs, CO, or Huntsville, AL, this role is essential in supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.

  Position Overview:
  The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a key component of the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to plan ballistic missile defense operations systematically, monitor the battle collectively, and dynamically control networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2BMC supports layered missile defense capabilities that enable an optimized response to threats across all ranges during all flight phases. It serves as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations globally and regionally to improve performance. C2BMC is essential for all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate current and future missile defense system capabilities.
  Essential Functions:
  _Develop and publish corporate business automation plans using cost-effective delivery technologies to support major corporate strategies
  _Performs complex software design integrating multiple technologies
  _Provides architectural guidelines for all software design activities across current and future technology environments
  _Maintains up-to-date knowledge of technologies, planning, design, and analytical methodologies
  _Responsible for the design and architectural guidelines for current and future software technology initiatives
  _Responsible for designing C2BMC AT and DEF SW solutions to meet customer requirements
  _Must have a demonstrated ability to lead a team of high-performing individuals across a multi-site, multi-disciplinary organization
  _Ability to analyze high-level needs and, through a structured, logical approach, refine them into an evolving architecture that culminates in a fielded product
  _Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Able to communicate effectively and to clearly present technical approaches and findings
  _Able to write and implement engineering plans for a project. Proven experience working in a team environment is required
  Previous experience should demonstrate the technical skills and responsibilities for the position cited here
  Will have previously architected automation pipelines to enable effective development in environments with rapidly changing requirements, design challenges that require novel solutions, fast-paced work, and tight deadlines
  Basic Qualifications:

  A Bachelor's Degree in STEM Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university is preferred, along with 5 years of experience; or a Master's degree (preferred) in a STEM-related field with 3 years of relevant work experience; or a PhD in a related STEM _discipline with 1 year of relevant work experience_Applicants must have a current, active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+ CE, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA, etc.) at the time of application, which is required to start. The candidate is responsible for maintaining their DoD 8140 certification throughout the entire contract period
  Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret _security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start_Willingness to travel between development sites (Colorado Springs or Huntsville) may be required
  _Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, can work independently, and possess the poise and flexibility required to work in a highly dynamic environment
  _Must be a self-starter who can initiate research and clearly document results
  _Must possess a strong understanding of system software deployment architectures and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD)
  _Must have demonstrated leadership skills over software projects
  _Should understand and possess demonstrable skills, including:

  Ability to document architectures using system modeling tools, such as CAMEO or Enterprise Architect Ability to understand and decompose requirements to support verification and validation testing of software components
  _The ability to generate detailed, repeatable, automated test procedures
  _The ability to extract data to support analysis requirements
  _The ability to generate procedures that test functionality
  _The ability to apply Agile and Lean Product Development principles and to train others in a DevOps-type environment
  _The background should include all aspects of the software development life cycle
  _Experience with VMware, Linux, and Windows operating systems, Git, Ansible, JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Excel & Visio, and other open-source development tools
  _Must have experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems, software, and specialty engineers to develop solutions
  _Should understand the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS)
  Preferred Qualifications:

  Primary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $163,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
