Position Overview

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr. Principal Supply Chain Subcontract Specialist for our Business Unit, Armament Systems, located in Plymouth, MN.

Armament Systems specializes in the development and production of Ammunition, Guns and Precision Guidance Ordinance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for the procurement of services, specialized materials, and/or equipment
  • Prepare bid packages, conduct bidders conferences, analyze and evaluate proposals, perform price/cost analysis, negotiate subcontract provisions, select or recommend subcontractors, write awards, and administer resulting subcontracts
  • Ensure that appropriate documentation is provided to logistics/transportation & warehouse organization so that proper receipt is recorded
  • Negotiate and coordinate additions, deletions, or modifications to subcontracts
  • Participate with program functional areas to coordinate subcontract funding, invoice processing and program reviews
  • Coordinate and collaborate with key stakeholders such as contracts, engineering, quality, supplier development, planning, operations, program and end-users
  • In conjunction with quality organization, evaluate and monitor supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules
  • Identify strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through strategic and targeted negotiations
  • Manage performance of subcontracts and ensure compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulations
  • Utilize process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to drive quality, efficiency and continuous improvement
  • Manage and develop strategic/key suppliers and review and approve supplier payments

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with at least 12 years of related experience. Will consider 8 years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 6 years of experience with a Master's Degree
  • Experience in Subcontracts, Purchasing, Contracts, Finance, or Project Management
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with SAP or related business application software
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations) and DFARS
  • Ability to collaborate with program management and other multi-functional teams
  • Ability to multi-task and make sound decisions in a timely manner
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a very fast paced environment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Past experience performing successfully in a buying, supply chain planning, or supply chain program management role
  • Knowledge of U.S. government and industry supply chain practices
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
  • Previous Control Account Manager (CAM) experience or training
  • Demonstrated experience with compliance and problem solving
  • Masters degree and 6+ years of supply chain, contracts, business management or related experience
  • Negotiating skills with contracts in excess of $10 million
  • Risk mitigation experience
  • Change Management experience

Compensation and Benefits

Primary Level Salary Range: $112,200.00 - $168,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
