- Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff Network Engineer
- Level 5 to join our team based in the Aurora, Colorado area at Buckley SFB.
The Network Engineer will support the customer's computer data communications systems, in providing design specifications, testing and inspections for computer networks; plan and implementing upgrades; as well as, analyzing and organizing corresponding hardware and software combined solutions through network modeling.
About the program:
The Rushmore program is looking for experienced Network Engineering candidates to provide technical support and engineering for WAN/LAN development and maintenance. The work involves installs, design, configurations, monitoring, and maintenance of network hardware and software to ensure network availability to system users. You may work alongside other network support and client server specialists to plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures. You'll provide support to projects involving networks, by helping them connect to the network and troubleshooting issues they may have. You will develop and implement methodologies for analysis, installation and support of the network.
Staff in Level 5 positions are expected to quickly gain mission and system domain knowledge coupling that with prior experience to mentor and influence others as well as contribute to advancing the program's objectives and meeting customer expectations. Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 12 years of Network Engineering experience; Master's degree with 10 years of Network Engineering experience; PhD with 8 years of Network Engineering experience; Associate's degree with 14 years of Network Engineering experience; or a HS diploma/GED with 16 years of Network Engineering experience
- Active/current Top Secret/SCI clearance with adjudicated CI or Full Scope Polygraph at time of application
- Active/current CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent 8570 certification
- At least 4 years of Network Engineering experience covering Switching, Routing, Firewalls, Cabling, and Hardware configuration/installation with CISCO and/or Juniper equipment
- *Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 6 years of Network Engineering experience covering Switching, Routing, Firewalls, Cabling, and Hardware configuration/installation with CISCO and/or Juniper equipment demonstrating a strong proficiency
- Experience working with worldwide enterprise networks
- Experience working with classified level enterprise networks
- Ability to effectively communicate and present to program management and customers
- Ability to effectively write technical documentation
- Experience sharing knowledge, mentoring, and working in a collaborative environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, testing, and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds (yet such is in-frequent)
- Ability to support after hours and on weekends as needed (yet such is in-frequent)
Primary Level Salary Range: $155,500.00 - $233,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
