Northrop Grumman Aeronautic Systems sector is seeking a Configuration Analyst (Level 2) and/or Principal Configuration Analyst (Level 3), to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Air Systems Integration organization. One selected candidate will support the Redondo Beach CA site and other to support the Palmdale CA site.
Essential Functions:
The selected candidate will perform the following, including, but not limited to:

  • Support Program tasks and attend meetings.

  • Maintain Configuration Management Command Media, Work Instructions and perform updates as required.

  • Perform CDM metrics on a recurring basis and support Program prep meetings.

  • Overseeing the Engineering Release activities for the F-35 Composite Structure Definition IPT. This includes Build-To-Package (BTP), Source Control Drawings (SCD), Tech Packages, Engineering Schedule Change Record (ESCR) approvals.

  • Creation of the BTP, SCD, Tech packages and associated supporting engineering business items and data, BTP/SCD Lifecycle (workflow) execution, approval and formal engineering release.

  • Ensuring a Fully Linked Integrated Engineering Bill-of-Material (EBOMs) on all engineering releases. This involves working in Team Center Enterprise and Team Center Unified (Aero Source) in order to maintain a valid, formally released EBOM.

  • Provides assistance and support to other F-35 IPT teams requiring Configuration Management assistance.

  • Requires meticulous attention to detail while maintaining control over all documents in flow.

  • Collaborates and coordinates with Technical Leads in the preparation, processing, and release of engineering documentation through the release process.

  • The selected candidate must be able to support audits, update procedures, and communicate effectively and clearly.

  • The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.

  • Plans and coordinates preparation of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met.

  • Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system.

  • Coordinates modification records for management control.

  • Establishes change orders and prepares for change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor.

  • Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Configuration Analyst (Level 2) consideration: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution along with 2 or more years of experience; OR Master degree with 0 years of experience; OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree.

  • Principal Configuration Analyst (Level 3) consideration: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution along with 5 or more years of experience; OR Master degree with 3 or more years of experience; OR additional 4 years of experience (9 years) in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree.

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance; OR DoE equivalent

  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

  • Prior experience in Configuration Management or equivalent

  • Technical knowledge and practice in design, analysis, or on-aircraft experience with Subsystems, Composites, or Metallic Structures.

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with FAR/DFAR/DCMA.

  • Experience developing, evaluating or auditing plans, processes and procedures.

  • Experience with Lean concepts.

  • Team leadership and technical delegation experience highly desired.

  • Experience with Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing and Test documentation.

  • Familiarity with Cost/schedule/budget concepts and tools (EVMS, SAP, etc.)

  • Knowledge of EIA-649, National Consensus Standard for Configuration Management

  • An existing DoD security clearance Secret or above.

  • Government Contracts experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $73,900.00 - $110,900.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $91,200.00 - $136,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
