Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a motivated strategic thinker to join our RQ-4 Enterprise team as a Manager Strategic Planning 3 to provide strategic leadership in support of a high intensity effort to grow the RQ-4 and Targets portfolio, establish three new production lines, and build relationships with new domestic and international customers. This position will be located onsite in San Diego, CA with some flexibility for hybrid arrangements once established in role. Travel for customer meetings and other site visits will comprise ~10% of the job.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Strategy and Roadmap Development

  • Lead all aspects of strategy development and long-term positioning for multiple new and existing customers for RQ-4 and other emerging aircraft platforms

  • Partner with program and capture management to create and maintain roadmaps spanning capture, pre-production, production and follow-on opportunities for each platform and customer set
    Customer Engagement Planning and Preparation

  • Support Enterprise and Business Unit (BU) leadership with the design and construction of customer analysis and engagement plans

  • Coordinate and execute customer engagements in alignment with sector and corporate customer engagement process

  • Coordinate senior leader customer engagement preparation to include developing meeting objectives, background, talking points, briefing material, and logistical details
    External Communication Support

  • Develop key messages to deliver to external stakeholders; partner with Communications to create press releases, brochures, social media posts, and prep notes for leadership press interviews
    Internal Communication and Review Support

  • Develop key messages for Enterprise and BU leadership to deliver to Division, Sector and Corporate leadership; produce whitepapers, prep memos and talking points supporting internal engagements

  • Recommend key messages for Enterprise and BU leadership to share with employees; create newsletter inputs, email announcements, posters, and electronic billboard content to deliver these messages

  • Build and present strategy charts for internal reviews including Enterprise All Hands, Enterprise Program Management Reviews, Enterprise Proposal Review Boards, BU Long Range Strategic Plan Reviews, BU Capture Pursuit Reviews, Division Campaign / Capture Reviews, Division Portfolio Reviews
    Client Relationship Management (CRM) and Pipeline Management Support

  • Coordinate with Enterprise leadership and Strategy & Growth (S&G) personnel to ensure Enterprise customer engagements are captured in Salesforce with appropriate notes in accordance with NG policy

  • Work with S&G personnel to extract information from Salesforce about prior engagements with stakeholders and fold into strategy and preparation for upcoming engagements with the same stakeholders

  • Partner with Enterprise leadership and S&G personnel to ensure Enterprise business opportunities are appropriately reflected in Salesforce pipeline data, dashboards and graphics

  • Assist in creation of Enterprise and BU presentations to senior leadership on health of business opportunities
    NCTA and Capital Management Support

  • Partner with program and capture management to develop, maintain and present an investment strategy aligned with Enterprise roadmaps

  • Support NCTA and Capital budget planning, track/status performance against plan, and present to Enterprise and BU leadership

    Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years related professional experience OR a master's degree AND 8 or more years of related professional experience

  • Related experience includes program management, technical leadership, business development, strategy, acquisition or similar roles in the aerospace & defense industry, military or other government agencies

  • Experience with building and delivering effective presentations to executives

  • Experience writing clear, concise, executive-level talking points, whitepapers or prep memos for internal or external communications

  • Demonstrated leadership experience - either leading direct reports, technical program teams, or strategy efforts

  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret security clearance within a reasonable period of time as determined by the needs of the business
    Preferred Qualifications

  • Intrinsically motivated standout performance in a fast-paced team environment

  • Experience working directly with DoD and international acquisition customers and associated user communities

  • Experience standing up new lines of business, new products or new programs with a track record of effective strategy development and execution

  • Demonstrated experience involving multi-site, multi-sector, or multi-discipline collaboration

  • Experience with Northrop Grumman's culture and demonstrated success working within the company's organization, processes, and procedures

  • Active TS/SCI/SAP security clearance
    Salary Range: $170,000.00 - $255,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
