Job Description
A Technical Program Manager Senior is part of a key team of Technology professionals managing technical programs that deliver significant business value to Nordstrom and its customers. The Technical Program Manager Senior partners with internal stakeholders and external vendors to develop, design, build, and launch technology solutions. This position interacts with people in both business and technical roles to create specifications and resolve issues with an eye toward continuous improvement. This position works across departments and functional lines on a variety of programs that range in scope, risk, and complexity.
As part of the Employee Experience Technology organization, this Senior Technical Program Manager will support our Endpoint Platform Services team. This team builds, configures, and secures Windows, Mac, and Mobile endpoints across Nordstrom, enabling scalable, secure, and productive technology experiences for employees through platform modernization, automation, and strategic lifecycle management.

Combines understanding of the standards, concepts and principles of program management to solve practical needs of the business, while independently managing small to moderate programs

Proactively manages work execution through program dependencies, risks, schedules, budgets and understands the importance of requirements gathering, prioritization, and clear stakeholder communication

Utilizes Agile and Waterfall development concepts, planning and ceremonies
-
Uses data to report status, performance and communicates using fact-based and relevant data

Possesses awareness and practical experience with technology (e.g. Cloud, APIs, services, Windows stack, open source, database technologies, etc.)

Applies engineering lifecycle knowledge to feature design, task estimation, design review, story creation, triage, schedule and performance standards
Key Responsibilities:

Program Leadership: Own end-to-end program execution for the full backlog of initiatives, ensuring alignment with company objectives and endpoint modernization strategies.

Program Planning: Partner with business, product, and technology leaders to document the technical delivery of roadmap, defining deliverables, milestones, and dependencies.

Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with senior executives, business units, product managers, and technical teams to understand the needs, drive delivery, and communicate effectively.

Risk Management: Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address challenges to ensure program continuity and success.

Technical Integration: Partner with engineering teams to manage system data migrations, and overall technical design, ensuring compliance with architecture standards and security protocols.

Change Management: Ensure Change Management plans have been developed and aligned in the overall timeline to tech milestones. Supports development and facilitation of any technical change management needs.

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science or related experience required

5+ years of Project or Program Management experience

5+ years of demonstrated successful program delivery

Management of programs with cross-functional stakeholders

An understanding of SDLC methodologies

Experience translating technical requirements into plans

Experience translating business requirements into executable technical tasks

Pay Range Details

Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
$142,000.00 - $220,500.00 Annual
This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
