Trying to decide between Nokia (not Bell Labs) and IBM Research Triangle Park (Durham). My goal is ML Research and landing Student Researcher BS/MS roles at Bytedance, IBM, Google, Microsoft, etc. Ironically, I'm not sure if IBM SDE has a lot of internal mobility into research roles and moreover the Durham office is entirely product-focused iirc.
