Specialist, Merchant Sport & Equipment Pacific
WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
The Specialist, Merchant Sport & Equipment Pacific will be the conduit between the consumer and Nike regarding product & merchandising strategies, working closely with Planning, Marketing, Sales and fellow merchandising teammates both locally and in the Asia Pacific and Latin America Geography.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
As the Specialist, Merchant Sport & Equipment Pacific, your primary purpose is to build seasonal assortments to align with strategic product priorities, growth targets, and serve at the pace of the local consumer. Your focus will be through 3 priorities:
Consumerist: Amplify the voice of the Sport & Equipment consumer and marketplace upstream to Asia Pacific and Latin America Merchandise leaders (APLA) based in World HQ, to turn insights into “consumer right” assortments for our marketplace.
Curator: Deliver curated, productive & profitable assortments with an “end in mind” vision and to win with the Pacific consumer.
Connector: Land the Sport x Marketplace Strategy through close partnership with Cross-Functional Teams.

We’re looking for an individual with a desire to influence across teams and functions and work collaboratively to build seasonal assortment plans with retail end-in-mind.

You will have a ‘team first’ mentality and will have an unbridled passion for sport and the positive influence that sport can have on the lives of individuals and communities.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
Through close collaboration with APLA Sport Merchandising teams, you will drive assortment priorities aligned to consumer and marketplace strategy. You will be a highly effective and engaged member of the Pacific Merchandising team and will prioritize the following work:

Drive product lifecycle to align with the consumer at pace, balancing innovation, newness, and consistency across assortments.

Lead with a consumer-first mindset to deliver strategically aligned assortments which support both online and in-store journeys.

Own the Product Assortment Strategy for your sports, in Australia and New Zealand, ensuring >80% consumer-right assortment adoption.

Provide relevant consumer, assortment, and buying context to Merchandising and Integrated account teams, supporting planning processes, e.g. allocation planning and buy reviews.

Partner with regional Merchandising on seasonal product assortment strategies, offering consumer insights and identifying growth opportunities.

Support partner engagement for your priority accounts (Pre-SKO, SKO), fostering alignment and readiness across key stakeholders.
In this role you will need a seasonless mindset, balancing newness and consistency to drive portfolio health and balance through support of corporate strategy, and in-depth knowledge of local business needs.
Most of all, you will love sport and will be excited by the role you can play to elevate & serve the marketplace with the end goal to serve the athlete.
