WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

This role will directly report to the Senior Manager, Brand Creative, Retail GC, who leads retail design projects and work streams of story design development across concepts for retail. This Lead Professional role will support team in delivering top-tier impactful storytelling and creative direction across Nike’s retail world. By leveraging various physical and digital design approaches, identity opportunities and deliver solutions that embody Nike’s standards and connect consumers emotionally to our brand in Retail.

Besides support creative teammates and leadership, this lead role will closely work with cross-functional counterparts, such as Concept Development, Retail Marketing, Expansion and Procurement. Collaboration also spans across Marketing, Marketplace and Global BC studios. In addition, the Lead role will be responsible for managing vendors, suppliers and agencies to ensure per retail project will be executed meeting Nike’s craft standards and are recognized for executional excellence.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

You will get involved and lead the creative development of retail experiences, brand activations and immersive storytelling for GC marketplace. Deliver design solutions, from finishes and imagery to art direction, with a relentless focus on craft, detail, and storytelling impact.

Following global/geo retail storytelling directions, you will explore and test new storytelling approaches whether through materials or digital integration, drive innovation that push beyond conventional retail design environment, and make our retail spaces feel more connected, immersive and distinct.

You will be engaged openly in all the creative review, cross-functionally presenting work with clarity, collecting, communicating and responding to all the design feedbacks, and iterating with speed and precision. Closely collaborates with Geo/Global key counterparts to communicates design and ensure feasibility and excellence.

You will always stay ahead of design trends, consumer behaviors, and retail innovations to inform future strategies. Growing mastery in art direction, finishes and digital integration within retail storytelling.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • We seek a visionary and strategic professional lead in Retail Design to together shape the future of immersive brand experiences, activations and innovative retail environments.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in retail design, brand environments, or experiential marketing. A proven track record of innovation and ability to leverage emerging technologies to build impactful spaces and drive consumer engagement are essential. The candidate is equally comfortable ideating, illustrating, and executing in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • This role demands a passion for sport and creative problem solver that thrives at the intersection of brand, culture, and commerce. With strong collaboration skills to manage complex projects and deliver within timelines and budgets.
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, graphic design, industrial design, environmental design, or a related field. Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, and 3D software is a plus.
  • Fluency in English and Chinese with strong visual and verbal communication skills and deep understanding of local culture and retail landscape.
  • Travel domestically and internationally to support execution and alignment, estimated about 10-20% annually.
