WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

Reporting directly to the Director, Digital Marketing based in Tokyo, Japan, this role leads Japan’s owned channel strategy and is accountable for the talent growth and development. The Senior Manager partners closely with the Japan Marketing team and Asia Pacific Latin America (APLA) Marketing team to drive key brand initiatives. Collaboration with the Nike Direct Digital Commerce (NDDC) team is essential fuel demand and elevate consumer experiences across digital platforms.

Nike seeks a bold, visionary leader to join the Tokyo-based marketing team. The ideal candidate is passionate about sport, deeply curios about consumers behavior, and aligned with Nike’s brand purpose. They are a compelling storyteller who embraces innovation and cultivates an inclusive team culture that sparks creativity and collaboration.

This leader will oversee a team driving strategy across Nike’s owned digital marketing channels. They will champion brand and business priorities, deliver measurable commercial impact, and foster enduring consumer loyalty. The role includes managing three direct reports: one focused on Lifecycle & Targeted Communications—including Nike.com, the Nike App, email, native push notifications, and long-term member growth; another leading SNKRS marketing; and a third overseeing seasonal off-price and full-price initiatives in partnership with NDDC.

  • Minimum 8-9 years of experience in digital marketing or related experience in marketing fields, with a strong passion for digital marketing innovation and brand storytelling across owned digital ecosystems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or a closely related field.
  • Proven team leadership experience, including managing at least one direct report.
  • Demonstrated expertise in marketing analytics, with the ability derive actionable insights and apply findings effectively.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in both English and Japanese, including experience in facilitating meetings, delivering strategic recommendations, and presenting persuasively to leadership.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

You will lead the development and execution of annual and seasonal strategies across Nike’s owned digital channels—including Nike.com, the Nike App, Targeted Communications, and SNKRS. Your work will shape impactful consumer communications that drive engagement, elevate brand equity, and deliver on business objectives. Success will be measured by increased traffic, improved sell-through, and strong leadership in building a high-performing team.

  • Develop and execute annual, seasonal, 365, and pilot plans across digital channels to fuel brand and business growth
  • Monitor and optimize consumer communications by delivering performance reports, championing a test-and-learn mindset, and fostering a culture of iterative marketing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners, influence marketing leads, and manage agency relationships to ensure alignment and excellence.
  • Represent the technical capability needs of territory and geography teams, and help operationalize new capabilities across APLA.
