WHO YOU’LL WORK WITHYou’ll be joining a dynamic, fast-paced Global FPE (Foundational Platform Engineering) team within Nike. Our team is responsible for building innovative cloud-native platforms that scale with the growing demands of the business. Collaboration and creativity are at the core of our culture, and we’re passionate about pushing boundaries and setting new standards in platform development.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FORThis role is part of Foundational Platform Engineering, FPE aggressively innovates solutions to drive growth while creating and implementing tools that help make everything else in the company possible. The candidate needs to have a strong understanding of technical concepts, leadership skills, excellent attention to detail, data accuracy, and data analysis, strong verbal and written communication skills, and be self-motivated and operates with a high sense of urgency and a high level of integrity.

  • Hands-on multi-year (10+) experience with information technologies like operating systems, Java, Sail Point, Okta, Cyber Ark and advanced information security along with 3+ years’ experience in managing teams

  • Proven expertise in IAM platforms: Sail Point, Okta, Cyber Ark, Secrets Manager, and certificate management solutions (Key Factor / EJBCA)

  • Strong command of authentication & access protocols: Active Directory, RADIUS, AAA account management, MFA, and privileged access vaults Proficiency in cloud-native platforms with a strong PaaS (Platform as a Service) orientation

  • Solid understanding of software engineering best practices: version control, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and unit testing

  • 3+ years of direct people management experience leading high-performing engineering teams

  • Drive team performance through structured goal-setting, project prioritization, and performance evaluation

  • Coach, mentor, and develop talent-providing continuous feedback and creating clear growth pathways

  • Cultivate a collaborative, innovation-driven engineering culture that attracts and retains top talent

  • Guide teams through complex technical challenges with clarity and decisiveness

  • Partner with stakeholders, product leadership, and executive sponsors to align IAM initiatives with business priorities

  • Advocate for and advance the IAM platform roadmap, balancing innovation with operational stability

  • Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Exceptional attention to detail with unwavering commitment to data accuracy

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON:

You will play a key role in shaping and delivering Nike’s next-generation platforms. As a Engineering Manager, you’ll leverage your technical expertise to build resilient, scalable solutions, manage platform performance, and ensure high standards of code quality. You’ll also be accountable for end-to-end delivery for IAM platforms. Day-to-Day Activities:

  • Communicates effectively with engineers, Operations, Counter parts in various geographical locations and other stakeholders in the organization.

  • Planning, Prioritization, Executions, Design Reviews, Code Reviews, Change management and resource allocation.

  • Providing leadership in designing, Developing scalable and secure IAM solutions

  • Establishing, managing, and measuring quality processes for enterprise user throughout its lifecycle.

  • Developing and documenting procedures to address Identity and access Management functions

  • Ensuring compliance with Nike policies and regulations.

  • Providing regular status updates to leadership and handling complex technical escalations.

  • Familiarity with governance, security features, and performance optimization.

  • Keen attention to detail with a growth mindset and the desire to explore new technologies. As an Engineering Manager, you will spend 60% of time on Technology and 40% on management

  • You will help build and deliver modern foundational platforms that provide data engineering orchestration capabilities and modernize the enterprise level data integration landscape.

  • Drive your team to establish standard methodologies, define success and develop critical metrics to continuously evolve feature delivery & scale production operations.

  • Partner and engage with multiple data engineering squads and their leadership to align on platform-centric roadmap & requirements that will support thousands of data engineers and data scientists.

  • Work closely with engineering leadership, product leadership, architects and program to develop and contribute to foundational platform roadmaps.

  • Partner with Principle Engineers & Principle Architects to develop tools and frameworks for improving security, reliability, maintainability, availability, scalability, self-serviceability and performance of your platform’s foundation. When moving quickly, requirements and technical direction may not always be clear, and the Engineering Manager is encouraged to step in, set that direction, measure results and adjust.

  • Drive/help in breaking down technical work during sprint planning and ensure

  • product and technical features are delivered to spec and on-time.

  • Ensure solutions are designed and developed using a scalable & resilient cloud native architecture.

  • Coach, mentor, grow, groom & hire best-in class engineering talent.
