WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
This role serves as a key leadership position within the Japan NVS business. The Senior Principal collaborates closely with leaders from Japan Nike Direct Stores (NDS) and a diverse team of cross-functional Nike partners, including teams in Planning, Finance, Retail Marketing and Asia Pacific Latin America (APLA) geography counterparts. The role reports directly to the Senior Director of Japan NDS.
Key Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in retail management, brand management, marketing, planning and closely related fields.

Bachelor’s degree or higher education.

Proven ability to inspire teams with passion and commitment, amplify optimism, and lead high-performing groups in both corporate and retail environments.

Deep expertise in owned retail management and marketplace operations, with strong real estate and financial acumen.

Entrepreneurial spirit and strategic thinking, with end-to-end business management skills.

Strong oral and written communication skills in both Japanese & English.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
As a Senior Principal for Japan NVS, you will lead the development and execution of the NVS strategy to elevate retail performance and achieve business targets. Partnering with Japan Stores leadership – including NDS lead, Director of Stores, Store Operations & Service, Asia Pacific Latin America (APLA) geography NVS channel lead – you’ll drive sustainable sales, profit growth, and inventory management across Nike Japan.
You’ll lead a dynamic, liquidation-focused channel, crafting strategies that enhance the Nike Brand in retail and maintain healthy inventory levels.

Championing cross-functional HQ initiatives to identify market trends, build and implement effective action plans, and proactively unlock business opportunities.

Influencing and validating seasonal planning for NVS stores by leveraging the CODE process.

Implementing rebuy strategies and managing seasonal execution in collaboration with the Japan NVS Planning team and APLA NVS channel lead to optimize inventory and sales.

Optimizing media and in-store marketing strategies to drive targeted traffic and ensure brand-right presentations, working closely with NVS Marketing, Director of Stores and Store Operations.

Shaping the NVS landscape by partnering with the Japan NDS Lead and Store Development to drive real estate excellence and proactively optimize the store fleet.
