WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
As a core member of the EMEA Brand Communications team, you will report to the Director of Brand Communications, EMEA. The individual will have the opportunity to collaborate with skilled communicators across Brand, Employee, Marketplace and Corporate Communications, as well as global and territory teams, to help advance our brand and business through impactful storytelling.
This role will focus on Running—working closely with Nike’s cross-functional brand running marketing teams—you will also be expected to contribute across other fields of play as needed to support business priorities.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a Lead Communications Professional with extensive experience in communications and a deep understanding and affinity for all things running.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and executing communications strategies specifically within the running industry or aligned sport categories. Demonstrate an ability to collaborate with diverse teams, think critically, and effectively manage multiple, often competing, priorities.
This role requires a strong leadership first mindset, with the capacity to access and apply knowledge of consumer and media insights, trends, and intelligence related to running culture, innovation, and the evolving landscape of running communities. A genuine curiosity for the culture of running and a passion for staying ahead of the curve is key.
The successful candidate will demonstrate agility, welcome change by finding creative solutions and achieve objectives even in situations of ambiguity. This individual will thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment, possess a growth and winning mindset, and be an enthusiastic team player eager to support both the running category and broader business goals.
- Deep understanding of the intersection of running, athletes, sport and style, as well as broader culture within EMEA, with a keen interest in running culture and its communities.
- Experience developing and executing strategic communications plans, that delivers narrative-led storytelling and consumer engagement
- Proven ability in initiating and driving the ideation process that contributes to meaningful and innovative strategies, concepts and partnerships.
- Excellent communicator of ideas, concepts and plans, with the ability to influence across a complex matrix on a functional and regional basis
- Strong project management skills, including strategic planning, creative ideation, execution, budgeting, and agency management
- Strong media relations background
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
You will be responsible for developing and executing long-term communications strategies and innovative storytelling tactics that builds Nike’s image as the leader in running for EMEA and creates positive brand resonance with consumers and employees. You will:
- Develop and execute GEO specific strategic communications plans that create impact and pushes the boundaries of communications
- Seek outside-world opportunities, beyond our current internal structures that takes us to new spaces as well as maintaining our heritage and fueling our future in running
- Be an architect of a new media / medium network for running and running culture with a focus on youth first spaces
- Develop a 365 running storytelling and engagement approach
- Build and drive influence with the right partners internally and externally
- Keep up to date with emerging trends in running, design, media and technology
- Navigate and manage issues as needed
- Lead and execute key communication initiatives and events within EMEA.
