At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.
We are seeking a Financial Analyst for Residuals to be a key member of our Contingent Compensation and Residuals team. In this role, your key responsibilities will be to interpret and analyze the residual impact of various guilds, unions, and production service agreements, and to execute accordingly. This includes calculating, preparing, and processing residual payments, preparing and managing financial forecasts of residual obligations, and working closely with cross-functional teams such as Labor, Production Finance, and Business Affairs to determine the residual impact across various titles.
Responsibilities
Analyze and interpret production, distribution, and legal contracts/deal terms for residual liability and financial impact.
Forecast, set up, pay, and report residual liabilities in accordance with contractual terms.
Forecast and assist in accruing obligations.
Liaise with Production Accountants and Producers to gather required information for residual setups.
Contribute to financial analyses to evaluate the impact of residuals on the business, including scenario planning and assessing new deal terms.
Work closely with third-party payment processors to provide detailed setup data, ensuring complete and accurate residual payment setups.
Participate in initiatives to innovate and enhance processes, including testing and implementing new residual systems for improved automation, workflow efficiency, and standardization.
Collect necessary documentation and interface with auditors to provide support for guild and internal audits.
Lead and assist in complex projects, ensuring thorough analysis and execution.
Qualifications
BA/BS in accounting, finance, business administration, or similar degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2+ years of related experience required, preferably in residuals. Experience with new media residuals is a plus.
Entertainment industry experience preferred.
Strong financial analysis and modeling skills, with the ability to problem-solve effectively.
Excellent Excel & Google web-based program skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
Must be able to comprehend and interpret collective bargaining agreements.
Highly motivated, analytical, proactive, organized, and self-sufficient.
Capable of planning and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
