Department Overview
Motorola Solutions’ System Integration in Europe specializes in delivering end-to-end solutions for Land Mobile Radio (LMR) and public safety communications. The department focuses on designing, implementing, and integrating advanced mission-critical systems, ensuring seamless interoperability, reliability, and scalability for public safety agencies and organizations. Key technologies include TETRA, P25, LTE-based and 5G systems, tailored to meet the complex requirements of emergency services.
Senior system engineers in this department play a pivotal role in system architecture, deployment, and optimization. They work on cutting-edge communication technologies, ensuring high performance and compliance with industry standards. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing large-scale projects, and providing technical expertise to enhance public safety communication networks across Europe.
Job Description:
As our System Engineer Compliance & Certification, you will be the primary technical bridge between our engineering teams and the stringent regulatory landscapes of critical communications. You are the gatekeeper of quality and compliance, ensuring that our life-critical technology meets the exacting standards of the BDBOS and TCCA. This is a high-impact role where your technical expertise directly enables the deployment of secure, reliable communication networks for public safety and government authorities.
The System Engineer Compliance & Certification acts as an interface between standardization bodies, government agencies and authorized bodies. You will translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable engineering goals and ensure our product roadmap aligns with national security and interoperability mandates. Working closely with Product Management and Engineering, you will design and execute comprehensive test plans and manage the end-to-end certification lifecycle. You will be supporting our customers during testing of new releases and provide consultancy during their roll-out. With your expertise in Compliance & Certification you will be serving as a Subject Matter Expert for internal and external stakeholders and representing Motorola Solutions in industry forums and user conferences.
Basic Requirements:
-
Engineering degree (preferably in Telecommunication, Electrical Engineering, Networking or Cyber Security)
-
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in system engineering or regulatory/certification environments
-
Deep understanding of the TETRA Standard and ETSI/TCCA documentation and requirements
-
Proven experience in defining, coordinating, and executing complex technical test procedures
-
Solid understanding of the product development and software implementation lifecycle
-
Full professional proficiency in both German and English (written and spoken)
-
Eligible to live and work in Germany with the ability to travel for customer meetings and test sessions
-
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and a proactive, "can-do" attitude
Ideally you are also bringing
-
Hands-on experience with DIMETRA functionalities and Motorola Solutions product architecture
-
Specialized knowledge of BSI E2EE (End-to-End Encryption)
-
Experience with air-to-ground testing and Airbus network access protocols
-
Proven ability to translate highly technical requirements into simplified concepts for customers and vice versa for engineering teams
-
A meticulous approach to reviewing technical test reports and certification applications to ensure flawless submissions
-
Experience navigating the structures of German authorities (BDBOS and Authorized Bodies) and their specific certification workflows
You will join a team that builds technology that matters. As a System Engineer Compliance & Certification, you are ensuring that the men and women in emergency services - working in the harshest conditions - stay connected and can communicate with clarity. We offer a seat at the table in international workshops and the opportunity to influence the future of critical communication standards, and a career at the forefront of public safety innovation.
