We're seeking someone to join our Network Security – Firewall Platforms team as a Firewall Tech Lead in Cyber to lead the deployment and operational support of over 800 appliance-based firewalls and multiple other servers, proprietary tools, and supplemental third-party network security solutions.

This is a Cyber Security Operations position at Vice-President level, which is part of the job family responsible for monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents to ensure the organization's systems and data are protected from actual and potential threats or breaches.

What you’ll do in the role:
-
Provide operational coverage within the Firewall Platforms Squad for firewall appliances: change management, incident management, and problem management.
-
Lead advanced troubleshooting of network security issues, while closely collaborating with technology peers internally and externally (e.g. vendors) for diagnosis and resolution.

Partner with business clients to understand and fulfill requests for network security solutions, including coordination with peer technology groups.
-
Implement and continually seek improvement on monitoring and observability for network-based firewalls to ensure a healthy and resilient infrastructure, including custom-built, home-grown tools/scripts.
-
Communicate and coordinate deployment of firewall appliances with external vendors/resellers and internal technology focused teams.
-
Ensure compliance with all Firm policies and procedures related to the deployment of network security infrastructure.
-
Potential for off-hour coverage (evenings and/or weekends) via mobile phone as part of an on-call pool in the Firm’s on-call system.

Create and improve operational runbooks, including knowledge share across the broader firewall team.
-
Assist in knowledge transfer by training both local and global teammates (via in-person and/or video recordings).
What you’ll bring to the role:
-
7 years of network security administration experience (preferably in the Financial Services sector).
-
Hands-on experience with any of the following firewall platforms: Palo Alto, Fortinet, Juniper, etc.
-
Expertise with common network security solutions (e.g. firewalls, Network Access Control (NAC), Network Security Orchestration tools, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), Network Address Translation (NAT), etc.).

Knowledge and experience in cloud environments.
-
Knowledge of packet filtering and stateful packet inspection.
-
Expertise with syslog / traffic log analysis for troubleshooting and network optimization purposes (e.g. via Splunk)
-
Scripting in any of the popular languages or tools (e.g. shell scripts, Python, Ansible, Github, Data pipeline, integration with third party vendor APIs).

Knowledge of networking fundamentals (e.g. routing, switching, VLANs, etc.).
