Electronic Trading Risk Manager

The Fixed Income Division (FID) is comprised of Interest Rate and Currency Products, Credit Products and Distribution. Professionals in the Division assess and actively manage risk, trade securities, and structure as well as execute innovative transactions in the fast-paced and constantly changing global markets.
The position requires someone who understands execution and associated risk including technology at a detailed level, is an excellent communicator, and who can navigate through various internal stakeholders. Qualified candidates need a strong background in electronic trading, trading algorithms and risk management. The successful candidate should be able to understand and analyze complex risk situations, actively managing risk reduction with appropriate escalations. This is an opportunity to work with a fast-moving, talented team, while interfacing across business owners, technology teams, products and compliance across the Firm.

  • Provide support to the team in setting trading limits and defining appropriate limit structure governance.
  • Improve and monitor existing control frameworks for electronic trading platforms/applications or architect new controls if none exist.
  • Critical assessment of systems architecture development as it relates to market impact, market access, fat finger risks, etc.
  • Partner with Strats, Technology, Trading, Risk Management, Legal and Compliance on number of applicable e Trading deliverables and initiatives.
  • Own the Algorithmic Trading inventory and participate in meetings where algorithms are discussed and authorized.

Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate in management with 2-3 years background in Electronic Trading risk Management, Middle office functions monitoring fixed income products and / or Trading Support focusing on sales and trading issues
  • Knowledge of fixed income products and risk management around it
  • Strong motivation, be a self-starter with a positive outlook and desire to solve problems
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to understand complex workflows
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to speak to senior management
  • Ability to identify and escalate issues effectively and appropriately
  • Good organizational skills and a high degree of attention to detail
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to clearly articulate objectives, requirements, risks and issues
  • Proven ability to take ideas forward and to challenge others with integrity and maturity
  • Proficiency in MS Office and related applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
