We’re seeking someone to join our team as a UX Designer.

Wealth Management (WM) Platforms manages industry-leading platforms, across all WM channels and client segments, to provide a unified digital experience, unlock growth, and deliver efficiencies for Advisors, Clients, and Institutions. WM Platforms consists of nine sub-teams including: Field Experience & Platforms, Digital Client Experience & Platforms, Workplace Platforms, Automation & Workflow Solutions, Digital Trading & Investing, UX Design & Research, Strategy & Execution. Business Control & Support, and the Chief Operating Office.

The Morgan Stanley Institutional Securities UX team builds digital experiences for our key user bases: corporate, sovereign, investor and other institutional clients globally to help them provide best-in-class products and services in M&A, sales and trading, equity underwriting and debt financing. Our growing team of designers and researchers bring an entrepreneurial spirit to a leading global financial firm. We're looking for a UX Designer to help with Morgan Stanley financial products. Your role will be involved in deliver user-central solutions- streamline workflow, create cohesive end-to-end user experience, and rethink and integrate new, complex workflows in an intuitive manner.

What you will do in the role:

  • Working closely with the UX lead, help execute the product vision by being involved in every step of the end-to-end product design process

  • Understand the underlying needs and motivation of our clients to ensure we achieve business goals and provide value to our clients

  • Work closely with our research team to synthesize qualitative and quantitative data and make value-driven design decisions that translate into clear, simple UIs

  • Create and present a variety of design deliverables (sketches, wireframes, user flows and prototypes) in a way that engenders confidence in you and your solutions with the team and the greater organization

  • Form holistic solutions that integrate seamlessly into our Institutional Securities product ecosystem

  • Design and deliver Desktop, Web, and Mobile solutions that are optimized for multiple applications and partner with engineers to translate designs into successful products

  • Work closely with the larger firmwide UX team to share design best practices, align on patterns, and promote a design-centric culture at the firm

  • Advocate for all user abilities by thoroughly testing design deliverables to meet WCAG ADA compliance

What you will bring to the role:

  • You've spent 3 years as a UX designer who was a key contributor to the success of products that have launched

  • You have an outstanding portfolio that demonstrates how you have created experiences that solved business and user needs

  • You have a bachelor's degree in design or related field preferably, master's degree or previous experience with working in financial industry is a plus

  • Skill in developing rapid UI prototypes and proficiency working with Figma

  • You thrive in a collaborative, explorative environment and value being on a diverse team that you can bounce ideas off of, get critical feedback from, and unite with to mature design thinking within a large organization

  • You practice active listening and contribute to group situations (i.e. brainstorms, audits, critiques, whiteboard sessions, etc.)

  • You have a relentless desire to validate assumptions and uncover a problem's root cause by testing, learning, and iterating

  • You have a knack for balancing user goals, technology needs and business objectives and can clearly explain the rationale for your designs and how they achieve both

  • You constantly seek opportunities to evangelize and promote design thinking in a large organization
