Department Overview:

In the Wealth Management division, we help people, businesses and institutions build, preserve, and manage wealth so they can pursue their financial goals
Wealth Management (WM) Platforms manages industry-leading platforms, across all WM channels and client segments, to provide a unified digital experience, unlock growth, and deliver efficiencies for Advisors, Clients, and Institutions. WM Platforms consists of nine sub-teams including: Field Experience & Platforms, Digital Client Experience & Platforms, Workplace Platforms, Automation & Workflow Solutions, Digital Trading & Investing, UX Design & Research, Strategy & Execution. Business Control & Support, and the Chief Operating Office.
The Automation & Workflow Solutions Team is a strategic transformation function within Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. Positioned at the intersection of process reengineering and technology, the A&W Team leads large-scale initiatives that drive operational excellence through workflow, automation, software/application development, artificial intelligence (GenAI, Agentic AI), and intelligent document processing solutions. The team plays a key role in creating widespread efficiency that enables a shift in capacity towards higher-value clients and business-focused activities.
What you'll do in the role:

  • Oversee and drive the end-to-end execution of strategic change initiatives, from concept through post-execution measurement. This includes gathering and creating business requirements, performing impact analysis, end-to-end user testing, pilot/national roll out planning, supporting execution activities such as communications and change management, and tracking success metrics.
  • Liaise between business, technology, operations, and field service teams to deliver platform solutions and new process creation.
  • Lead conversations across multiple stakeholder groups; freely developing networks, building consensus, and prioritizing deliverables clearly and effectively to manage a multi-faceted roadmap.
  • Perform business analysis, create detailed technology requirements (use-cases, user stories, or any other artifacts) and provide subject matter expertise to embed technology solutions and business strategies to current platforms and operating models.
  • Effectively navigate the complexities of delivering new and enhanced software/applications, ensuring alignment with business needs, risk controls, and technology architecture.
  • Creation of presentation decks for socialization with a wide range of stakeholders, business partners, and senior management.
  • Communicate updates on project timelines and report key milestones to stakeholders and internal leadership.
  • Establish and shape governance frameworks designed to support prioritization decisions and manage program risk.
  • Foster a culture that values diverse perspectives, bold thinking, and relentless improvement.

  • Experience leading large-scale transformation initiatives with a focus on operational efficiency and technology enablement.
  • Exceptional communication and story-telling skills to articulate vision, drive alignment, and inspire change.
  • Ability to simplify and communicate complex subject matter.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous, dynamitic environment; able to connect dots and make sound decisions based on disparate information.
  • Ability to deliver engaging, informative, well-organized requirements and concept designs.
  • Proven ability to gain consensus across multiple teams to help drive execution, informational gathering and manage expectations.
  • Strong business analytical and logic skills.

Qualifications:

  • At least 9.5 years of relevant experience across work and higher education
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Familiarity with change management, and program governance structures in large matrixed organizations.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to define complex business problems, synthesize data, and provide and execute tactical and strategic solutions.
  • Experience with Agile or application development methodology for technology projects is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Software development life cycle (SLDC) and understanding of Product Management software such as JIRA is a plus.
  • Experience designing and delivering Agentic AI and/or Generative AI solutions a plus.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $190,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
