We’re seeking someone to join our Enterprise Technology team as a Site Reliability Engineer (L3 Support), in Enterprise Computing (EC) to the Data Distribution Infrastructure L3 support team. This team is part of the Enterprise Computing Organization at Morgan Stanley. The team manages and supports a variety of reporting, Managed File Transfer(MTF) products/applications such as proprietary systems like COMET and Infoblast mail, and vendor products such as Connect Direct (NDM) used by our external clients.

This position is for senior L3 SME and SRE with global responsibility for the application and infrastructure related to Managed File Transfer.

This is Director position that maintains the stability and reliability of the organization's infrastructure systems, ensuring optimal performance and availability to support business operations.

What you’ll do in the role:

The day-to-day responsibility includes application server and SFTP, FTPS server administration. Technical troubleshooting of infrastructure and user incidents. Server and application deployments and task automation.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience working in an operations support role
  • Strong knowledge of HTTP, FTP/STFP, SQL, Databases and general MFT technologies.
  • The applicant should also be comfortable with system administration of Unix/Linux and Windows infrastructure/Application.
  • Scripting of operational administration tasks in Java, PowerShell and/or Python (preferred), Perl, Shell Scripting or other.
  • Experience in troubleshooting complex issues related to network, databases, storage, security and operation systems.
  • The individual should have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in high pressure situations for Incident and problem management.
  • Be available for weekend and on-call work on a rotation basis.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work well in a team environment.
