We're seeking someone to join our team as an Associate in ORD Coverage Support team in Legal and Compliance Division. The role is an integrated part of global ORD and is expected to be the subject matter expertise in the assigned coverage area
In the Legal & Compliance division, we assist the Firm in achieving its business objectives by facilitating and overseeing the Firm's management of legal, regulatory and franchise risk. This is an Associate level position within the Legal and Compliance Division, this role re quire working closely with teams at all levels of the organization within ORD, including frequent communication with various stakeholders such as the senior operational risk coverage managers in New York/London/Hong Kong/Tokyo, as well as with other supporting functions in Baltimore and Budapest as needed

What you'll do in the role:

  • Support the Operational Risk Coverage team with a focus on analyzing large data sets of structured and unstructured data

  • Contribute to development of presentations for executive management and senior risk managers in support of our Risk management from a firmwide perspective

  • Perform other ad hoc projects, analyses and presentation support for the Senior Coverage team

  • Work collaboratively with the Coverage and global junior coverage (SBA) teams across locations and businesses to scope projects, define analytical approaches, establish time frames, conduct analyses and summarize conclusions in concise presentations

  • Participate in analysis and preparation of information supporting various operational risk programs such as incident, issue, key risk indicator/metrics monitoring, and other weekly/ monthly monitoring and reporting activities

  • Lead and promote Business Intelligence tooling development

  • Use visualization products (e.g. Tableau, Power BI etc.) to identify opportunities to bring efficiency in the processes

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Bachelor's/master's degree in finance, Economics, or similar. Master's degree is a plus.

  • Atleast 2 years' experience within the financial services industry/consulting firms, or similar industries subject to comparable regulatory and legal considerations.

  • Approximately 2 years of relevant experience either in 2nd Line Operational Risk team or 1st Line Risk and Control team or Sales and trading or Operations or Finance

  • Strong interest in financial services, risk management and reporting

  • Good understanding and experience of operational risk management concepts such as risk assessments, incidents, scenarios, metrics etc.

  • Expertise in PowerPoint and Advance Excel.

  • Advanced user of PowerPoint, Excel, VBA, Co-pilot and visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI etc.)

  • Keen to learn technology-based skill set depending on the need

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to details.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and an ability to present ideas concisely

  • Ability to communicate complex analytical techniques and results to layman

  • Ability to work under pressure with competing demands and challenging deadlines

  • Strong organization skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize; ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

  • Ability to collaborate and work across teams
