We are seeking a technology professional for a role focused on disaster and database recovery testing and reporting tools. The position also involves participation in exercises related to key business applications and Cyber Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. This role contributes to the broader testing strategy aimed at risk reduction and improving operational resilience.
The team operates within the Morgan Stanley Firm Resilience organization, concentrating on testing scenarios involving databases, applications, and cyber-attack recoveries. Utilizing Agile methodologies, the team develops and implements testing exercises to evaluate recovery capabilities across various infrastructure components. Database-related testing includes platforms such as DB2, Sybase, MSSQL, and multiple Cloud databases. Cyber-attack (DDoS) testing involves planning and executing assessments to determine the effectiveness of network security measures against attacks.
In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is a Risk & Resiliency Mgmt II position at the Associate level, which is part of the job family responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks to ensure operational continuity and resilience in the face of potential threats or disruptions that could impact the organization, plus management of ongoing incidents.

What you’ll do in the role:

Develop and maintain tools and scripts for reporting purposes
-
Oversee automation of manual processes using current technologies and SDLC practices
-
Manage an internal testing environment with attention to data security
-
Collaborate with business and application teams, database administrators, and infrastructure teams in a cross-divisional program employing Agile methodologies
What you’ll bring to the role:
-
4+ years’ experience of software application development concepts and Unix/Linux/Windows.

Good understanding of the concepts behind structured and non-structured databases.
-
Exposure to Disaster Recovery, Cyber and Network security concepts.
-
Knowledge of SQL and data query concepts.
-
Knowledge of software programming and/or scripting using Python, Java
Excellent project planning and communication skills.
-
Excellent problem-solving skills and passion for developing new and creative solutions to complex problems.

Good understanding of technology resilience testing concepts.
-
Good Understanding of the Agile / DevOps model.
-
Exposure to business intelligence tools like Power BI, Qlik View
Desires skills:
-
Exposure or interest in on demand service (SAAS, IAAS, PASS) and/or Cloud technologies.

Exposure to Mainframe.
-
Exposure to financial industry and trade flow.
-
Exposure to business application resilience concepts.
