Position Summary
The Traditional Investment Products (TIPs) Product Management team is responsible for day-to-day operation of the business units within TIPs, for oversight of new and post-launched products on the platform, supporting the Product Development & Origination team and all traditional investment products including Domestic and Offshore Mutual Funds, ETFs, UITs, CEFs, Money Markets, 529 College Savings Plans, and Billing Oversight. The group is seeking a highly motivated professional to join the team as a UIT Product Manager specialist to support any assigned business and product unit(s), partner with the Product Development & Origination team in various capacities and lead a series of tactical and strategic initiatives for various products and business units within TIPs. The product management entails supporting all stages of the product launch process, maintenance of products and platforms, working closely with control partners on various technology and strategic projects.
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- A subject matter expert (SME) on Unit Investment Trusts (UITs) or Mutual Funds and industry related topics.
- Support day to day functions during US business hours for Traditional Investment Products (TIPs) and Product Development teams including responding to FA inquiries and requests.
- Partner with Product Development and Operations on implementation of fund / trust setups, process changes, Rollovers, FA notifications, case management requests, etc.
- Provide business analyst support to strategic and tactical projects including business requirements, project management, quality assurance testing and the development of communication strategies.
- Participate in various product review and technology/platform committees acting as a SME for the products and the billing related topics.
- Responsible for the maintenance of policies and procedures, maintaining and enhancing controls, interacting with internal audit and product risk, and mitigating risks.
- Serve as the point of contact for Sponsors on prospectus reviews, product changes, Rollovers and real-time trading issues.
- Work with Operations on FA inquiries related to product availability, platform related issues, Product information, and real-time trading issues.
Skills/Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of and experience with Unit Investment Trusts (UITs) or Mutual Funds and industry related topics.
- Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
- Must be proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (functions, formulas and macros).
- Prior experience managing strategic initiatives and experience in any traditional investment products.
- Strong judgment in prioritizing, evaluating and sharing information as appropriate, and determining issues requiring escalation.
- Ability to work independently, often on multiple assignments concurrently, while adhering to deadlines and the group’s standards.
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative and team skills including ability to work with third party investment managers and Financial Advisors.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $135,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
