We’re seeking someone to join our team as Associate in Ops Risk & Regulatory Control to perform Operations Data Strategy activities, and to help implement governance routines, improve data quality, and enable automation/AI initiatives to play a key role in transform how Morgan Stanley Operates.
In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is an Associate level position within the Change, Analytics & Strategy, which is responsible for developing operating and technology strategies, managing and executing transformation initiatives, leading Agile fleet activities, driving innovation, developing analytics solutions and delivering business outcomes.

What you'll do in the role:
- Assist in implementing governance frameworks and control routines aligned to firmwide standards.
- Support the Opportunities Backlog by documenting requirements, value hypotheses, and status updates.
- Contribute to data quality and lineage activities; help monitor metrics and prepare stakeholder reporting.
- Partner with Silo Data Leads and RTech on assigned deliverables, reuse patterns and templates.
- Participate in training and tool adoption (Data Zone, Collibra, MS Maps, Snowflake).
- Intermediate: Risk Management & Control; Business Knowledge & Expertise; Communication.
- Foundational to Intermediate: Analysis, Collaboration, Adaptability.
- Execute processes/functions and/or support process management and project efforts, leveraging knowledge of the systems, markets and instruments that influence the team.
- Recognize risk in day-to-day processes to draw out the key issues and contribute to process improvements.
- Build relationships within team and internal stakeholders, sharing knowledge to contribute to team output
- Participate in projects and initiatives, aiding in solution formulation with a focus on timely execution.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Basic understanding of data governance and operational risk principles.
- Interest in data management, analytics, and transformation initiatives.
- Familiarity with data tools and platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Collibra) is a plus.
- Clear communication, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage tasks to deadline.
- Ability to establish clear goals and priorities and address non-standard issues within area of expertise with minimal guidance and supervision.
- Subject matter expertise in business area supported, client requirements, and ability to ensure control is not compromised to comply with client requests.
- Culture carrier across Operations, embracing the Firm's core values.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in data management, governance, analytics, or related operational roles would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
