Position Description Morgan Stanley’s Commercial Real Estate Lending Group (CRE Lending) within the Securitized Products Group (SPG) originates, distributes and risk manages a portfolio traditional Commercial Real Estate loans across three global regions. We are currently seeking an interested Senior Manager/VP level candidate to join the Asset Management team. The successful candidate will be expected to work with the regional asset managers of large portfolio of commercial real estate. The role is based in Mumbai.
Primary Responsibilities− Leading various asset management functions including continuous loan monitoring, coordinating with other banks on syndicated loans, client management, preparing periodic business plans, early risk assessments etc.
− Provide periodic updates on loan performance and key risks to CRE Lending Management, and coordinate information shared with Global Asset Management Team and Credit Risk colleagues
− Responsibilities also include covenant tracking, financial spreading, draw and upfunding review and analysis, drift analysis, loan data update/reconciliation within Morgan Stanley owned systems/databases and reporting functions.
− Establish loan reporting dates and requirements at closing and manage the completeness and timely capture into proprietary workflow platforms
− Gather market data, and create meaningful analysis to aid with risk decisions
− Assist in producing the quarterly underwriting assumptions and risk projections for the loans within the CRE Lending portfolio and review with the local loan coverage teams
− Provide periodic risk reporting to local teams to support quarterly governance
− Prepare and coordinate periodic regulatory submissions with global portfolio reporting team
− Coordinate with overlapping teams and provide feedback on further process and technology enhancements support
− Train and guide the 3rd party service providers on MS internal systems and various reports to maintain consistencies across global reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
− Masters in business administration from premier institutions or Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAI) / ACCA / CPA.
Experience and Skills Required− Minimum 12+ years’ experience in structured products or real estate loan origination / asset management (Global commercial real estate markets)
− Proficiency in Advance Microsoft Excel (including VBA), exposure to SQL or other database tools for data extraction and analysis (preferred).
− Strong communication skills to coordinate with local teams globally and cross-functional teams effectively
− Ability to execute on established processes and procedures
− Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
− Self motivated and highly organized individual.
− Ability to effectively prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks under tight deadlines
− Strong leadership skills, training & managing external service providers to provide accurate outputs. Liase with leadership on strategic initiatives.
