Position Summary: Private Capital Markets (“PCM”) is a group at Morgan Stanley focused on delivering the full spectrum of private market solutions to our corporate, financial, and sponsor clients. The PCM team collaborates closely with investment banking coverage and all major capital markets product areas – including Leveraged Finance, Investment Grade Debt, Securitized Products, and Equity Capital Markets – to originate primary deal flow from issuers, and source related financing, hedging, and advisory mandates from investors.
As a Private Capital Markets Vice President, you will be at the forefront of a rapidly expanding market segment, driving business growth and managing complex and high-profile transactions. Based in New York, you will serve a global client base working closely with our coverage and product partners across the country and in Europe, Latin America, and Asia Pacific. The PCM group may also help source principal risk taking and financing opportunities for the Firm.
PCM covers the full value chain from corporate origination through investor distribution. Given the flexible and strategic nature of private capital, the team is client-oriented and product-agnostic, tailoring bespoke solutions to address diverse client needs and goals. Key themes and use cases include: Growth Capital, Capital Structure Optimization, Asset Monetization, Project and Acquisition Finance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a key contact and advisor to firm clients, including the largest corporations and investment managers in the market
- Coordinate with teams across Investment Banking, Capital Markets, and Fixed Income to source and execute transactions
- Manage all aspects of deal execution and guide clients through structuring, marketing, and negotiation
- Develop models and analyses for structuring, pricing, and syndication
- Stay informed on market trends and provide insights to clients
- Assist in principal risk and financing opportunities for the Firm
Qualifications:
- 5+ years in private credit, investment banking, capital markets, or related fields. Direct transaction experience in project finance is a plus
- Highly quantitative with excellent modeling and presentation skills
- Detail-oriented, able to perform under pressure and with tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Strong project management and financial analysis skills
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Series 7, 63, and 79 licensing (or willingness to obtain)
- Position is based in New York City and will include client travel

Expected base pay rates for the role will be $275,000 per year for VP, at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
