Role Overview:

We are looking for a senior front office developer to join the Strat Labs team within Equity Strats at Morgan Stanley. The team is responsible for rapid development of next-generation Trading Risk Tools & Applications, to deliver solutions for visualisation and intelligence across Risk, P&L, Market Data & Signals. These tools and applications support Equities Trading across all businesses including Delta1, Derivatives & Swaps. The role is key to meeting the demand for intraday risk management capabilities as product volumes and complexity continue to grow.

Division Overview:

The Institutional Equity Division (IED) is a global leader in the origination, distribution and trading of equity, equity-linked and equity-derivative securities. The Firm's equity Sales & Trading operations provide liquidity, distribute content, and create product solutions to help our clients generate alpha. The Equity Financing Products department acts as a strategic partner to more than 800 top hedge fund managers: executing and clearing trades across asset classes, time zones, and currencies; providing financing and expertise to help manage risk and benefit from technology; and consults to help launch new funds and connect them with potential investors.

What will you be doing?

  • Developing trading tools and applications with a focus on intraday risk in a low-friction, high-velocity environment
  • Engaging directly with Trading on requirements, prioritisation, and delivery
  • Partnering with colleagues in Strats and Technology to leverage core risk-calculation services
  • Programming primarily in Python and React / JavaScript technologies and leveraging Agentic AI for rapid development and delivery

What we're looking for:

  • Experience and knowledge of equity products and Trading risk including derivatives
  • Strong communication skills and responsiveness in a Trading environment
  • Strong technical skills with a record of application development in a front office area
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and drive rapid, high-impact delivery
