We are seeking an experienced individual to join our team as a Compliance Testing Director (AVP)
In the Legal & Compliance division, our primary goal is to assist the Firm in achieving its business objectives by facilitating and overseeing the Firm's management of legal, regulatory and franchise risk. The EMEA Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Testing Team plays a crucial role in this mission by providing independent oversight activities to assess the Firm's overall control framework related to Compliance and Operational Risk. The EMEA NFR Testing Team covers all businesses as well as controls and processes owned and operated by supporting control functions, including but not limited to Operations, Technology, Compliance, HR, and Finance.

What you'll do in the role:

This role will be based in the EMEA NFR Testing Team in Glasgow performing assurance reviews of testing deliverables, and the candidate will report into the NFR Testing Manager based in Glasgow.

The candidate will contribute to the design and execution of a portfolio of NFR Tests across business units in EMEA and, where required, globally. This execution-based role will involve working closely with Compliance and Operational Risk coverage teams as well as business unit stakeholders.
Key components of the role include:

Planning and participating in walkthroughs to create proportionate, risk-based scopes.

Executing control focused testing (covering design effectiveness, operational effectiveness and outcomes based).

Coordinating the investigation and escalation of potential issues along with the documentation of agreed action plans.

Managing closure verification of actions, including the assessment of evidence to support closure.

Supporting aspects of NFR Testing Management Information.

The candidate will work closely with EMEA NFR Testing colleagues based in London, Frankfurt, and Mumbai and, where required, with colleagues from other Global Testing Teams.
What we’re looking for:
-
Typically, you will possess a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience to provide the skills and expertise necessary for the responsibilities of the role.

A background in regulatory compliance testing, monitoring, assurance, or audit experience at a financial institution. Experience in Investment Banking or Sales and Trading is preferred.

Familiarity with European and specifically UK compliance issues and be adept at interpreting relevant laws and regulations within these jurisdictions.

The candidate should demonstrate confidence, and both the ability to use their own initiative and be an accomplished team player. Good judgement, strong analytical abilities, effective communication and organisational skills are all required.

A university degree or equivalent qualification, and / or relevant years of experience within the financial services industry.
