We are seeking someone to join our team as a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead and oversee our accounting function. This role is structured around key skills essential for managing accounting operations, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic financial insights. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting and financial reporting, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
In the Finance division, we act as a partner to business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm’s financial and capital resources. This is a Director level position within our Corporate Controllers, Reporting & Accounting Job Family which is responsible for Morgan Stanley's financial records, ensuring that the assets and liabilities of the Firm are properly controlled, and providing accurate and timely financial information both to senior management and externally to statutory and regulatory bodies. The Budapest team is a vital part of the global operations, representing more than 90% of the team globally.

What you'll do in the role:
Lead and manage the accounting function, including journal entries, subledger activities, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other applicable regulatory requirements.
Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls over functional areas to safeguard financial integrity.
Prepare and deliver ad-hoc and regular financial analyses, providing key stakeholders and management with insightful information on financial performance.
Prepare Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss account reconciliations for both internal and external audit purposes.
Identify opportunities for development and implement enhancements to improve efficiency, processes, and data quality.
Participate in ad-hoc and global projects, focusing on optimizing current processes and standardizing procedures across regions.
Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders and management to support strategic decision-making.
What you'll bring to the role:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Self-motivated with high standards for quality and accuracy in work.
Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
At least 5 years relevant experience in accounting or financial reporting would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
