What you’ll do in the role:

Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. is seeking an Associate, Software Engineer in New York, NY to maintain internally developed systems used for automating the importation of Python packages. Manage and resolve any issues during the automation process. Familiarize and train team members to utilize Python effectively. Act as point-of-contact for all Python escalations. Leverage expertise to assist and resolve technical issues at point of installation from open sources. Develop Python modules for internal Firm use. Complete root-cause analyses to identify Python core and C-suite issues. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.

What you’ll bring to the role:

-Requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field of study.

-Requires three (3) years of experience in the position offered or three (3) years as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or a closely related occupation.

-Requires three (3) years of experience with the following skills:

• Software package management
• Native code compilation
• Windows OS fundamentals
• CI/CD
• SDLC policy and processes
• Code debugging
• Root cause analysis
• programming language interoperability

-Requires two (2) years of experience with the following skills:

• Python development
• Linux OS fundamentals
• Agile project management
• software architecture

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $156,000 and $156,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
