How you will contribute

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated o9 Planning Tool Configuration Consultant/Lead to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of o9 solutions, particularly within Demand Planning and/or Supply Planning modules, and a proven track record of successfully configuring and implementing o9 to meet complex business requirements. As a Configuration Consultant/Lead, you will play a critical role in designing, building, testing, deploying o9 solutions and also supporting in longer run, working closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project managers.

This role focuses on handling business-generated tickets for o9 Solutions' Demand Planning (DP), Supply Planning (SP), and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) platforms. The engineer will provide functional and technical support to ensure minimal downtime, quick resolutions, and high user satisfaction in a supply chain environment.

Responsibilities:

CoE TEAM

  • Triage, prioritize, and resolve tickets for o9 DP/SP/IBP modules, including user access, data discrepancies, planning runs, and reporting via tools like Jira or Service Now.

  • Solution Ownership and Governance: Own the full SAP APO and IBP landscape across Demand Planning (DP), Supply Network Planning (SNP), and IBP modules; establish governance frameworks for configurations, upgrades, version control, and compliance with enterprise standards.

  • CoE Standards and Best Practices: Ensure adherence to Center of Excellence (CoE) standards, templates, and best practices by conducting audits, standardizing planning models, and rolling out reusable assets like scenario templates and validation checklists.

  • Regional Incident Support: Provide 24/7 support for planning incidents across all 4 regions (e.g., Americas, EMEA, APAC, India), including rapid response to outages, performance degradation, and failover coordination.

  • Inconsistency and Data Analysis: Analyze planning inconsistencies (e.g., forecast variances, inventory imbalances) and data integration issues between o9/SAP systems, using root cause analysis tools like SQL queries and log parsers to identify gaps in master data or algorithms.

  • Automation and Efficiency: Drive automation initiatives (e.g., scripting planning runs, alerts for anomalies) and process improvements, measuring impact via KPIs like ticket reduction (target 20%) and planning cycle time savings.

  • CIF Monitoring: Oversee Core Interface (CIF) monitoring and troubleshooting for real-time data transfers, resolving transfer failures, model inconsistencies, and queue blocks between APO and ECC/IBP.

  • Integration Management: Manage integrations between SAP APO and SAP ECC/IBP, including BAPI/BDoc monitoring, error handling in queues (e.g., inbound/outbound), and enhancements for custom fields or bidirectional sync.

  • Perform functional guidance on workflows, technical diagnostics (APIs, GraphQL, SQL), escalations, and UAT for releases; collaborate with stakeholders for training and proactive prevention.

Configuration & Implementation:

  • Lead and execute the configuration of o9 Demand Planning and/or Supply Planning modules based on business requirements and solution design.

  • Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications.

  • Configure o9 master data, planning parameters, workflows, and user interfaces.

  • Develop and execute unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

  • Troubleshoot and resolve configuration issues during testing and deployment.

  • Ensure adherence to o9 best practices and configuration standards.

  • Config block upgrades/package imports for new features.

Knowledge, Experience and Education

  • 15+ overall years of experience

  • More than 3 years’ experience with the o9 platform, including configuration, customization, and integration

  • Technically hands on SQL,MySQL to be able to manage o9 SSIS layer

  • Technically hands on mathematical models, predictive models desirable python&pyspark

  • Experience in GIT, Kubernetes, Containerization will be plus

  • Experience code reviews , code packing, code/batch dependency management & library management

  • Large global team management, including internal and contract resources

  • Familiar operating in large and complex multi-national organizations to create alignment for her/his strategic priorities across a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
