Overview
We are seeking a Product Manager to drive operational efficiency through AI-powered agent experiences that monitor, detect, diagnose, and mitigate issues across Microsoft’s M365 services including the systems that power M365 Copilot. In this role, you will shape the future of Observability and Operational Intelligence, leveraging AI and a distributed network of intelligent agents to transform incident management, reduce operational toil, and improve service reliability at scale.
Your Role
- Define and drive product vision and strategy for AI-powered operational agents, ensuring alignment with Observability & Insights' teams' charter to enhance reliability and customer experience.
- Lead end-to-end product lifecycle: from ideation and requirements gathering to launch and adoption across engineering and operations teams.
- Partner with engineering, data science, and design teams to deliver scalable, explainable AI solutions that integrate seamlessly into existing workflows.
- Develop and prioritize roadmaps for agentic capabilities, including anomaly detection, automated diagnostics, and proactive mitigation.
- Influence cross-functional stakeholders to adopt AI-first operational practices and ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory standards.
- Measure success through KPIs such as Time-to-Engage (TTE) reduction, automation coverage, and customer satisfaction improvements.

Responsibilities:
Product Definition & Execution
- Own end‑to‑end feature delivery for medium‑complexity areas, from problem definition through launch.
- Translate customer needs, business goals, and technical constraints into clear product requirements and user stories.
- Maintain a prioritized backlog and ensure engineering has clarity on scope, success criteria, and timelines.
- Drive execution across engineering, design, data science, and partner teams to deliver high‑quality features on schedule.
- Communicate delays, risks, and blockages in advance and find mitigations to keep project on track.
Customer & Data‑Driven Insights
- Conduct customer research, analyze telemetry, and synthesize insights to identify unmet needs and opportunities.
- Produce proof of concept (POCs) to fully illustrate the specifications required of the new functionality
- Define and track KPIs to measure product health and feature success.
- Use experimentation to validate hypotheses, inform product decisions
- Perform evals to ensure quality as we iterate.
Cross‑Team Collaboration
- Partner closely with engineering to make tradeoffs, resolve ambiguities, and unblock progress.
- Collaborate with design to ensure intuitive, accessible, and user‑centered experiences.
- Work with marketing, support, and field teams to prepare for launches and ensure customer readiness.
- Communicate plans, progress, and decisions clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
Technical & Operational Excellence
- Understand system architecture, dependencies, and technical constraints well enough to make informed decisions.
- Ensure features meet reliability, performance, security, and compliance requirements.
- Partner with engineering to drive down tech debt and improve operational health.
- Contribute to documentation, playbooks, and processes that improve team efficiency.
Strategic Thinking & Roadmap Contribution
- Contribute to the product vision and multi‑semester roadmap for your area.
- Identify gaps, risks, and opportunities in the product and propose solutions.
- Build business cases for new investments using data, customer insights, and competitive analysis.
Leadership & Influence Without Authority
- Drive alignment across teams with differing priorities.
- Facilitate discussions, make recommendations, and help the team converge on decisions.
- Demonstrate ownership, accountability, and a bias for action.
Launch Readiness & Post‑Launch Iteration
- Coordinate launch planning, documentation, and communication to stakeholders, customers and leadership for release.
- Monitor post‑launch metrics and customer feedback to identify follow‑up improvements.
- Iterate quickly to address issues, refine features, and optimize user experience.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in product/service/program management or software developmentOR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software developmentOR equivalent experience.
- 1+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn).
- 1+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product).

Product Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
