Overview
We’re seeking a seasoned brand strategist with a passion for shaping best-in-class consumer product brands to join the Global Brand & Campaign Strategy team within the Consumer Marketing Organization. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in evolving the Copilot brand and crafting marketing strategies that resonate in a rapidly changing AI landscape. Our work spans global audiences and influences how customers perceive and engage with our brand, products, and services across advertising and content channels.
You will lead efforts to define, articulate, and activate our brand narrative, values, and attributes through product experiences, storytelling platforms, and campaigns. We’re looking for an energetic, customer-first thought leader who thrives in ambiguity, collaborates deeply across teams, including Product Marketing, Integrated Marketing, Microsoft AI (MAI) Engineering, Campaigns, and Brand partners, and drives Copilot’s growth as a brand people love and trust. Success in this role requires curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to prototype and iterate quickly.

Key Focus Areas:
- Copilot Flagship Brand Strategy
- Build upon, evolve and extend a unified Copilot brand strategy across audiences and the full product portfolio. Anchor campaigns and content with input from cross-functional teams and partners.
- Narrative & Campaign Briefs
- Translate brand narrative into quarterly campaign briefs that align internal teams and agencies for consistent, brand-led execution.
- Creative Strategy & Ideation
- Drive insight-driven creative briefs, creative strategies, ideate concepts, and inform advertising scripts. Brainstorm unique POVs that connect human needs with product value propositions, use cases, and features.
- Consumer Product Activation
- Partner with MAI and product marketing teams on the continual tuning of the Copilot consumer product strategy development and activation workstreams.
- Insights & Trends
- Leverage data, customer insights, market trends, and brand trackers to inform advertising and brand strategies.
- Brand Stewardship
- Guide teams in consistent, multi-faceted Copilot brand expression across marketing, product, and customer experience touchpoints. Lead work sessions and training to educate and align brand and content strategies and storytelling.
- Portfolio & Architecture Management
- Oversee Copilot brand fit across the consumer ecosystem, partner to simplify architecture, and evolve brand frameworks for clarity and innovation.
- Research & Measurement
- In partnership with our Research and Campaign leads, analyze brand perception studies, performance tracking, and audience testing to inform strategy and creative development as needed.
- Naming Strategy
- Connect naming efforts for apps, services, and features, ensuring customer-first lens and alignment with overall Copilot brand architecture.
- Creative Expression & Campaign
Partner with Campaign leads, Microsoft AI (MAI) product strategists, and Brand Creative Studio to develop creative strategies synergistic with brand and product identity. Guide on brand strategy alignment in campaign development and activation across stakeholders.
Qualifications Experience Required:
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- 6+ years work experience at a branding agency or in marketing, brand building, and/or strategy development.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications:
- 6+ years brand/creative strategy experience, which could include brief writing and/or managing strategy on the corporate or agency side.
- 6+ years experience managing projects (e.g., internal stakeholder management, timelines, prioritization, road mapping).
- A strategic mindset, able to balance short and long-term goals, and translate business objectives into brand solutions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to articulate and justify your ideas and recommendations with clarity and confidence.
- A collaborative and inclusive work style, able to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders across different levels and functions.
- A customer-centric and empathetic approach, able to understand and anticipate the needs and preferences of our target audiences.
- A growth mindset and a curiosity for learning, willing to use tools, experiment with AI, iterate, and adapt to changing environments and feedback.
Brand IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
