Overview:
Microsoft US Commercial Industries finance team is looking for a **Senior Finance Manager (AI Business Solutions & Security CSA)**with advanced analytical and communication skills, business acumen, and the ability to provide clear insights to support and drive our financial results and growth ambitions for the AI Business Solutions business across industries ($20B+ portfolio). This position analyzes trends and existing pipeline from customers and partners to build targets, project future performance, and provide actionable business insights to sales and finance teams. As the AI Business Solutions & Security CSA, you will partner with the business and finance teams to make strategic decisions by offering guidance, promoting financial thinking around current revenue, and informing business models for the future. Finance plays an integral part in developing growth strategies and providing clarity to the sales team to support tactical and strategic execution of Microsoft’s business priorities.
Skills required to be successful include advanced analytical capabilities, the ability to navigate ambiguity, effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, clear communication skills, and the ability to partner with and influence senior stakeholders. The role requires agility and skill in balancing multiple stakeholder needs while enabling the growth goals of the business in a dynamic and competitive market environment. Executive presence and self-awareness will support relationship-building with senior business partners and contribute to providing impactful perspective within and beyond the core finance responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
Prioritize
- Support rhythm of the business across all stakeholders with efficiency and effectiveness
- Drive understanding of business health through deep analytics and incorporating industry and customer insights
- Provide actionable insights to help the business execute plans and maintain accountability for results
- Support CFO forecast and budgeting processes to meet growth commitments with clear assumptions and drivers. Identify and manage business risks
Partnership
- Communicate results and insights to senior leadership in a clear and concise manner with a strong understanding of the business
- Drive actions with stakeholders to achieve business goals—including revenue outcomes, resource allocation, and investment decisions—through close collaboration
- Lead ongoing efforts to develop and evolve the insights framework with partners across finance and the business to reflect current needs and support growth opportunities
- Deliver impact by building on existing work, aligning people and resources, and fostering shared accountability
Protect
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal standards, and regulatory requirements by reviewing and monitoring the accuracy of financial documents and business processes; support corrective actions as needed. Provide guidance to business partners on sharing financial information, using approved instruments and processes, and maintaining consistency with corporate policies
- Collaborate with Compliance teams to ensure the organization stays current on company policies and procedures
Qualifications:
Required/minimum qualifications
- Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.
Additional or preferred qualifications - Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience ORBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experience OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ year(s) experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.
- 1+ year(s) work experience in matrix-based organization.
- 1+ year(s) work experience in the technology or software industry.
- 5+ years of experience collaborating with teams to achieve shared goals in environments with evolving requirements, navigating ambiguity, and adapting to operational changes.
- 5+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, forecasting, planning, reporting, and developing financial models with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- 5+ years of experience demonstrating clear written and verbal communication skills, working effectively across groups, and providing timely, service-oriented support to business stakeholders.
Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
