Overview

As a Solution Engineer, you are a senior technical leader who drives high-impact, complex customer engagements and shapes the technical win strategy across your Solution Area. You act as a trusted advisor to C-level business and technical stakeholders, translating customer outcomes into secure, scalable architectures and repeatable winning patterns. You work closely with Sales, CSU, partners, and product engineering to accelerate adoption, deployment, and consumption.

This role is expected to operate with high autonomy, coach others, and influence broader field execution—beyond individual deals.

  • Responsibilities Key Responsibilities1) Technical Win Strategy & Customer Outcomes

  • Lead the technical strategy, planning, and execution for customer opportunities in your Solution Area, from discovery to design to deployment.

  • Own the end-to-end technical win plan: value narrative, target architecture, PoC plan, security/compliance posture, and deployment readiness.

  • Drive senior-level technical workshops, architectural reviews, and executive briefings; serve as the primary technical advisor in complex deals.

    1. Architecture, Po Cs, and Deployment Success
  • Design secure, scalable reference architectures aligned to customer constraints (risk, compliance, performance, data residency).

  • Lead Po Cs/pilots, define success criteria, and ensure smooth transition to implementation teams/CSU.

  • Troubleshoot critical technical blockers and orchestrate resolution across product groups and engineering.

Scale Through Repeatability and Enablement:

  • Convert customer learnings into repeatable patterns (reference architectures, playbooks, demo assets, workshop kits) and champion adoption across the field.

  • Coach and enable other Solution Engineers and v-teams: technical guidance, deal strategy reviews, and best-practice sharing.

    1. Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Partner with STU/ATU, CSU, partners, and specialists to drive pipeline progression, deployment, and consumption.

  • Influence product roadmap and GTM by feeding structured customer insights, competitive learnings, and adoption gaps.

  • Additional Responsibilities (Double-hat Business Manager – STU Leader)

  • Rhythm of Business: Run weekly reveiws, QBR/MPR prep, leadership meeting readiness, action tracking, and follow-through.

  • Planning & Strategy: Support FY/Qtr/Month planning; synthesize pipeline/execution insights into clear decision briefs.

  • Comms & Content: Coordinate leader communications (org updates, guidance, stakeholder notes) and ensure message consistency.

  • Cross–Solution Area Coordination: Align execution across STU solution areas; surface blockers/escalations; share best practices/assets.

  • Business Hygiene: Support operational basics as needed (priorities, culture, communications, budget/ops tracking).

  • Qualifications Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field AND 8+ years of relevant experience in technical pre-sales, solution architecture, technical consulting, or cloud/enterprise engineering

  • OR equivalent practical experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, high-stakes customer engagements and drive technical decisions with senior stakeholders.

  • Strong consultative selling skills: discovery, structured questioning, storytelling, and solution narrative development.

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building and scaling repeatable technical assets (reference architectures, workshop programs, accelerators) used broadly across teams.

  • Experience influencing roadmap or driving adoption feedback loops with engineering.

    Industry depth in one or more: BFSI, Retail/e Commerce, ITES, Manufacturing, Public Sector

  • Technical Skills (tailor to Solution Area)Core

  • Cloud architecture (Azure), identity & access, networking, security fundamentals, operations/monitoring, and enterprise integration patterns.

  • Ability to design, validate, and communicate architecture trade-offs clearly.

  • Solution Area Examples

  • Azure & AI: Azure AI/Foundry, app patterns, data grounding, agentic architectures, observability.

  • Security: Zero Trust concepts, threat protection, posture management, DLP, governance.

  • Data: analytics architecture, data governance, platform modernization.
