We are seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Senior Business Development Manager to drive global partnerships across the telco and original equipment manufacturers (OEM) ecosystem. This role is pivotal in scaling Microsoft Copilot distribution and monetization through preinstall, bundling, and extensibility strategies. The candidate will lead complex negotiations with key telco partners, manage existing workstreams with OEMs, and coordinate cross-functional alignment on SKU strategy, pricing, and go-to-market planning for carrier and OEM channels. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for leveraging product features under development (SDKs, widgets, etc) to enhance on-device experiences across partner ecosystems. The role requires deep collaboration with product, legal, and finance teams to ensure scalable execution across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end partner engagement, including QBRs, proposal development, contract negotiation, and execution.
- Lead strategic initiatives such as Copilot extensibility frameworks, mobile app distribution planning, and SKU evolution.
- Synthesize OEM and carrier feedback into actionable strategies that shape Microsoft’s competitive positioning against offerings like Google Gemini and Perplexity.
- Drive new growth opportunities through targeted go-to-market motions, such as joint sponsorships, student-focused segments, and new device experiences.
- Author and manage briefing documents, partner decks, and internal alignment materials to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Liberal Arts, Sciences, or related field and at least 5+ years relevant work experience (e.g., investment banking, consulting, finance, marketing, corporate strategy, sales, venture capital, legal, business development, product management, project management, software development, or related field)
- OR equivalent experience.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Liberal Arts, Sciences, or related field and at least 7+ years relevant work experience (e.g., investment banking, consulting, finance, marketing, corporate strategy, sales, venture capital, legal, business development, product management, project management, software development, or related field)
- OR Master's/Advanced Degree in Business, Sciences, or related field and at least 5+ years relevant work experience (e.g., investment banking, consulting, finance, marketing, corporate strategy, sales, venture capital, legal, business development, product management, project management, software development, or related field)
- OR equivalent experience.
- 6+ years experience in the technology industry OR in a technical role (e.g., IT, Engineering)
Business Development IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
