The Industry Solutions Engineering (ISE) team is a global engineering organization that works directly with customers looking to leverage the latest technologies to address their toughest challenges.

We work closely with our customers’ engineers to jointly develop code for cloud-based solutions that can accelerate their organization. We work in collaboration with Microsoft product teams, partners, and open-source communities to empower our customers to do more with the cloud. We develop solutions side-by-side with our customers through collaborative innovation to solve their challenges. This work involves the development of broadly applicable, high-impact solution patterns and open-source software assets that contribute to the Microsoft platform.

As a Principal Technical Program Manager, you will help drive high-impact engineering projects with our customers and their partners, transforming their missions using AI and other cloud-based solutions and services. TPMs identify and define the relevant customer scenarios, orchestrate the engineering approach to address these, and develop the end-to-end user stories with internal and external stakeholders, fulfilling the Product Owner role. You will be part of a cross-functional team of software engineers, data scientists, technical program managers, and designers who work side-by-side with high-impact and strategic customers and their engineers to build innovative solutions.

• Responsibilities- Lead and manage technical programs that drive the development of high-impact solution patterns and open-source software assets.

• Collaborate with engineers from both Microsoft and customer teams to design and deliver cloud-based solutions.

• Ensure technical alignment of ISE activities with Microsoft's worldwide industry and product group strategies.

• Nurture an engagement pipeline aligned with Microsoft's strategic goals.

• Coach and mentor engineering teams to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

• Work closely with Microsoft product teams, partners, and open-source communities to empower customers to do more with the cloud.

Qualifications Required/minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
• Deep experience in designing and delivering solutions using modern software engineering practices and cloud technologies.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Passion for learning about new technologies and applying them to solve customer challenges.
• Business level of Japanese and English skills

Additional or preferred qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
• 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
• Enjoy travel and are comfortable with travel up to 25%
• 3+ years TPM experience in cloud services engineering or operations.
• Experience in asset-heavy industries such as manufacturing, automotive, transportation, retail or other regulated industries.
• Familiarity with AI and data modernization technologies.
