Microsoft’s CISO Security Engineering organization is seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager to build the future of security tools to protect Microsoft’s products and customers. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about technology and security. This person will lead and drive programs and outcomes for the development of tools and services that surface risks, and enable remediation, resulting in clear reporting to the leadership team.

- Responsibilities- Structure and lead strategic and operational level programs to accelerate growth; driving scalability and efficiency.
- Partner with relevant technical and business teams to design technical solutions across feature areas. Act as a technical advisor to identify risks and propose data-based mitigations.
- Manage success criteria and create relationships for implementing features for complex cross-functional projects. You’ll own the delivery of complex, cross-team initiatives that span multiple divisions with clarity and purpose.
- Deliver on roadmap for multiple feature groups, track project schedules, develop staging and implementation plan, and manage governance programs, track and mitigate risks, manage dependencies, and ensure timely delivery of program milestones.
- Drive continuous improvements to deliver efficiency and time to market improvement. You’ll also lead teams to partner with other departments to collect performance metrics, drive customer support, and lead direct customer engagements.
- Define program vision, strategy, and execution plans in collaboration with cloud service partner teams across Microsoft.
- Build and manage program-level dashboards and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring leadership visibility and data-driven decision-making.
Qualifications:
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
Other Requirements
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
- 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
