Overview:

As a Software Engineering IC2, you will have an opportunity to evaluate the latest technologies to improve reliability and responsiveness of the system. You will work closely with other Software Engineers, Data Scientists, Program Managers and DevOps team to understand the business requirements and challenges, and to deliver a system that meets the expectations and needs of our first- and third-party customers.

Starting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI (MAI) employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.

• Responsibilities- Define feature level specifications within a system that manages resource usage in a dynamic environment.
• Design and build components, tools and telemetry for these features and integrate into the system/platform.
• Communicate and document the design clearly and effectively to the development team and other stakeholders.
• Partner with appropriate stakeholders to provide improvements to the implementation, monitoring and robustness.
• Respond to changing business requirements by generating new ideas, pivoting development and incorporating process changes.
• Participate in DevOps to provide operational support.

Qualifications Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• OR equivalent experience.
