We are seeking an energetic, results-driven Principal PM Manager to define product vision and lead initiatives that ensure Azure DevOps meets the security, scalability, and resiliency requirements of Microsoft and enterprise customers—while enabling continuous growth. This role blends strategic thinking, technical depth, and leadership to shape the future of enterprise DevOps.
In this role, you will lead a team of product managers, providing active coaching and mentorship to drive growth, excellence, and impact. You will cultivate a culture where every individual feels empowered to contribute their best ideas and tackle complex challenges shaped by the unique scale and security needs of Microsoft and our enterprise customers. Together with your team, you will explore innovative ways to leverage AI to amplify both product and organizational impact. Responsibilities:

Define and execute the vision and strategy to ensure the Azure DevOps platform—including identity and access management, commerce, engineering systems, observability, and core infrastructure—remains secure against evolving threats and scales to meet the growing demands of Microsoft and enterprise customers.

Drive the modernization of the identity and access management platforms, engineering systems, abuse prevention, and deployment infrastructure with security at its core.

Drive alignment of Azure DevOps business models with GitHub to reduce friction and deliver a seamless “better together” experience for customers.

Mentor, and guide a diverse team of product managers, fostering a culture of curiosity, inclusion, and customer obsession.

Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, product management, support and cultivate relationships with partners across Microsoft/1ES/GitHub and executive leadership to drive alignment and deliver strategic outcomes.

Establish and track key performance indicators to measure platform impact and deliver actionable insights for business stakeholders.
Qualifications Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product management OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ year(s) people management experience.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in product management or engineering roles with a proven track record leading complex, large-scale initiatives.
- Hands-on engineering experience, including modern software development workflows, DevOps methodologies, identity and access management technologies, AI, and an understanding of the challenges developers and platforms face.
- Proven leadership ability to build, coach, and inspire geographically distributed teams in both engineering and security domains.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a focus on security and modernization.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities at all organizational levels.
- 5+ years of experience as a people manager.
- 10+ years of experience with cloud or equivalent enterprise scale platforms.
- 5+ years of experience in identity and access management technologies.

Product Management M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
