We are looking for a talented and experienced Principal Engineer who can solve some of the technically deepest problems in Operating Systems (Linux system) space and help us build a next gen distributed OS. This is going to be the foundational layer for the next evolution of our cloud infrastructure. We provide ample opportunities and training to learn on the job. And always love to have a fresh/diverse perspective, as we build the next gen cloud infra.

Responsibilities:

• Partners with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of scenarios.

• Leads identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.

• Leads by example and mentors others to produce extensible and maintainable code used across products.

• Leverages subject-matter expertise of cross-product features with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive multiple group's project plans, release plans, and work items.

• Holds accountability as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), mentoring engineers across products/solutions, working on-call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions.

• Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale and shares knowledge with other engineers.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• Strong background in Linux systems, systems design, and OS fundamentals.
• Experience in host networking, network overlays, and SDN is a plus.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree with 10+ years of experience in software development and leading teams. We expect you to be the next big-idea generator in the team. Who would be willing to take risks and use fast-fail techniques. Someone who would take along a set of engineers on the journey with you, to deliver impact in a sustainable, and KPI driven manner. Deeper experience in one or more of Linux systems & OS stack, SoC architectures for accelerated networking would be a plus.
