You'll influence technical decision making, drive prioritization and execution, while managing outstanding engineers and engineering managers in a fast-paced, impact focused environment.

You will be responsible for leading teams chartered with infrastructure innovations that enable software engineers, research scientists, data scientists, ML engineers to deploy solutions at planet scale and meet Meta's growing product and business needs.

Director, Software Engineering Responsibilities:

• Build, manage and support varied teams of software & hardware engineers and engineering managers/directors.
• Provide both technical and organizational leadership
• Form cross-functional and cross-discipline partnerships to drive engineering efforts
• Establish effective strategies and execute against them
• Uphold a culture of respect, integrity, inclusion, innovation

Minimum Qualifications:

• Significant technical industry experience
• Strong management experience
• Demonstrated experience recruiting, building, structuring, leading technical organizations, including performance management
• Proven track record managing globally distributed teams

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with AR/VR or related fields including robotics, automotive, aerospace and digital photography
• Experience with sensors for AI such as: 1. Camera, IMUs and depth sensing 2. Management and creation of synthetic spatial data 3. Sensor simulation / emulation 4. Sensor tuning and calibration 5. Image processing algorithms
• Experience with Spatial AI techniques such as: 1. Core computer vision / ML 2. 3D spatial reasoning, mapping and reconstruction 3. GIS fundamentals 4. Mixed reality
