Meta is looking for a hands-on leader to build and scale the Partnerships function of our Meta Robotics Studio ecosystem. The role will report directly to the global leader of Reality Labs and AI Partnerships. This person will shape the future of how we build Meta's first home robots.

You will be responsible for defining and executing our partner engagement strategy, building relationships through market ecosystem research and advocacy, and ensuring Meta Robotics becomes the lighthouse for the home humanoid robotics.

This is a highly cross-functional role requiring deep technical credibility, strategic acumen, operational rigor, and external leadership. You will lead a team that works closely with internal research, product management, AI-led model training, and software teams.

Director, Robotics Partnerships

Meta Robotics Studio Responsibilities:

  • Define the global partnership strategy for the Meta Robotics Studio, focused exclusively on accelerating the development, manufacturing, and market entry of Meta's first general-purpose home humanoid robot.
  • Identify, vet, and secure strategic supply, technology, and joint development partnerships for critical hardware components, including high-performance actuators (motors, reducers), advanced sensing arrays (vision, tactile, proprioception), and compact power management systems.
  • Lead complex commercial and technical negotiations, structuring agreements (e.g., co-development, licensing, supply guarantees) that ensure Meta secures best-in-class technology roadmaps and resilient supply chains.
  • Manage a portfolio of partnerships across the full stack of the robot, from mechanical design and safety standards to sophisticated embodied AI training data and control systems.
  • Serve as the primary external representative for Meta Robotics Partnerships, building key relationships with robotics industry leaders, academic researchers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Work closely with Meta AI Research and Product teams to translate technical partner capabilities (e.g., new control algorithms or sensor modalities) into actionable product roadmaps for the home robot platform.
  • Establish and lead a global team of Partnerships Managers and Technical Liaisons, fostering a culture of technical rigor, accountability, and partnership excellence.
  • Develop clear metrics and dashboards to track the health, value, and return on investment (ROI) of all key robotics partnerships.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of total experience in the technology sector, with at least 8 years in a senior leadership role focused on strategic partnerships, global business development, or corporate strategy within the robotics, industrial automation, or complex consumer hardware space
  • 5+ years of direct management experience leading and scaling high-performing, geographically distributed teams
  • Demonstrated, deep technical fluency across the core robotics stack: mechanical/actuation, sensor fusion, real-time control systems, and modern AI/ML architectures
  • Proven track record of successfully negotiating and executing multi-million-dollar technology deals (e.g., component supply agreements, intellectual property licensing, R&D partnerships)
  • Exceptional executive communication, presentation, and influencing skills with the ability to operate effectively at the highest levels both internally and externally

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A hands-on background or advanced degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Direct experience launching a high-volume, first-generation consumer hardware or general-purpose robotics product
  • Extensive pre-existing network within the global embodied AI, humanoid robotics, and critical component manufacturing ecosystem
  • Experience operating within an internal startup or incubation environment, specifically focused on translating bleeding-edge research into productizable components
  • Familiarity with functional safety standards and regulatory requirements for domestic robotics
  • Advanced Degree, MBA, or PhD in Robotics or related field
