Meta's Reality Labs is building the future of human connection through augmented reality, virtual reality, and mixed reality technologies, including Meta Quest, Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, and the broader spatial computing ecosystem. We are seeking a Communications Manager to lead external communications strategy across the Asia-Pacific region for Reality Labs products and initiatives. In this role, you will shape how media, industry partners, and the public understand and engage with Meta's AR/VR hardware, software, and platform story across diverse APAC markets, driving narratives that advance the adoption and understanding of immersive technologies.
Communications Manager, Reality Labs, APAC Responsibilities
Develop and execute regional external communications strategies for Reality Labs products, including AR glasses, VR headsets, and spatial computing platforms, across APAC markets
Build and manage relationships with technology, consumer electronics, and lifestyle media across APAC to drive accurate and compelling coverage of Reality Labs products and milestones
Craft and refine messaging frameworks, press materials, and executive briefing documents that translate complex AR/VR technology into accessible narratives for diverse regional audiences
Partner with global Reality Labs communications teams to localize and adapt product launch strategies, ensuring regional relevance while maintaining brand and narrative consistency
Serve as a regional subject matter expert on AR/VR communications, advising cross-functional partners including product, policy, and marketing on external positioning and reputational considerations
Lead issues management and rapid response communications for Reality Labs-related topics in the APAC region, coordinating with legal, policy, and global communications stakeholders
Identify and develop proactive storytelling opportunities that advance Meta's spatial computing narrative, including thought leadership, product demonstrations, and media events across APAC
Establish and track communications metrics and reporting frameworks to evaluate campaign effectiveness and inform future strategy across regional markets
Contribute to organizational communications planning by setting goals and priorities that align regional APAC efforts with global Reality Labs communications objectives
Minimum Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in external communications, public relations, or corporate communications within the technology, consumer electronics, or media industry
8+ years of experience developing and executing communications strategies across multiple APAC markets, with demonstrated understanding of regional media landscapes and cultural nuances
Experience leading communications for hardware or consumer technology product launches, including press strategy, messaging development, and media relations
Experience managing complex, cross-functional communications programs with multiple stakeholders across geographies and functions
Experience developing executive-level briefing materials, press releases, and narrative frameworks for technical or emerging technology subject matter
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in communications for AR, VR, mixed reality, wearables, or spatial computing products or platforms
Experience building and maintaining relationships with top-tier technology and consumer media across key APAC markets
Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
Demonstrated ability to manage regional communications (especially working with large cross-functional teams in Marketing, Retail, Product, Policy) during high-stakes product launches or issue management scenarios in APAC markets
Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
