Meta's Finance team is undergoing a significant transformation to define and execute our 2030 aspirations. The Modern Finance team is a key enabler of this mission, acting as a catalyst for innovation, productivity, and enhanced employee experiences. We are seeking a proactive and experienced Manager to lead Finance's portfolio management process, support communications related to Finance's portfolio of projects, and assist in setting key frameworks & methodologies needed to support Finance's accelerated growth, all critical activities in achieving our 2030 Finance strategy.As the Finance Portfolio Manager, you will be part of the Modern Finance Governance & Change team. You will primarily be responsible for managing and coordinating the Finance team's project prioritization process, helping to ensure that the organization is focused on the appropriate programs and projects, including AI initiatives, that these are supported by well laid out business cases and support our 2030 strategy. In this role you will coordinate with the various functional teams (Spend, Revenue and Corporate) as well as key cross-functional Leaders & Stakeholders in executing the prioritization process.

Finance Portfolio Manager Responsibilities:

  • Framework Development & Management: Develop, maintain, and ensure adherence to the Portfolio Management Framework, including scope criteria for prioritization, the business case approval process, and other governance (i.e. status reporting alignment across teams, project definitions). This includes developing supporting artifacts (instructional videos, wiki sites, communication materials) as needed and project tracking tools, using latest and greatest technology to support efficiency and engagement
  • Centralized Inventory Management: Develop and maintain a central inventory of all finance projects, making it easy to identify those that are a priority to key leaders
  • Business Case Support: Support functional teams in developing high-quality, consistent business cases for prioritized projects, ensuring all necessary information (description, benefits, costs, timelines, resource plans) is captured accurately
  • Roadmap Support: Support the Technology & Governance Manager in developing the Finance Integrated Roadmap based on prioritized projects mapped to key outcomes
  • Prioritization Facilitation: Work with Finance leadership and project teams to determine relevant prioritization for programs and projects, lead recurring prioritization meetings, and as-needed develop trade-off options when resources are constrained
  • Program & Roadmap Reviews: Facilitate periodic reviews of the Finance Integrated Roadmap to ensure alignment with prioritized projects, working with the respective project managers and project leaders, to evaluate progress and changes in key facts (i.e. timelines, expected ROI, changing priorities). The goal is to regularly re-examine the Finance team roadmaps to ensure they align with prioritization efforts and the 2030 strategy, in coordination with the Technology & Roadmap Lead
  • Reporting & Visibility: Prepare and share regular portfolio readouts to the Leadership Team, including status on prioritized projects, as well as smaller projects that are still critical to the 2030 strategy
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Foster transparent communication and alignment across CFO, CAO, EP and other impacted stakeholders regarding project priorities, resource allocation and recommended frameworks & methodologies
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to the Portfolio Management Framework and process based on learnings and feedback, incorporating new technologies and advancements where possible

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting, or equivalent practical experience
  • 12+ years of experience on portfolio or project management, managing a portfolio of projects, including prioritization and resourcing, as well as delivering projects under your own initiative and proactively leading the execution of large, complex and ambiguous programs
  • Experience working effectively with executive stakeholders and a track record of building impactful working relationships to enhance delivery and influence outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience in Analytical Skills: Analyze complex project proposals, understand interdependencies, and identify key drivers of success and risk
  • Demonstrated communication experience: Robust creating and presenting communication skills to convey complex ideas clearly, prepare concise reports, and facilitate discussions with various stakeholders, including leadership
  • Collaboration & Influencing: Proven collaboration across wide-ranging teams, influencing decision-making without direct authority, and building consensus among stakeholders
  • Program Management Acumen: Solid understanding of project lifecycle, resource planning, and governance principles
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Adept at identifying challenges within prioritization and resource allocation, and developing practical solutions
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized at managing multiple priorities, tracking numerous projects, and maintaining detailed documentation
  • Adaptability: Adaptable to changing priorities and evolving organizational strategies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Portfolio Management Certification / Project Management Professional / Certified Professional in Managing AI or similar qualifications
  • Demonstrated understanding of Finance business functions and experience executing the strategies of Finance functions
  • Demonstrated experience leading change management initiatives in a large organization
  • Experience implementing process improvements and driving operational efficiency
